Hot DEAL on Canon S9000 printer *DEAD*

just return it and buy it again you'll lose some money in shipping, but you'll still come out ahead
Better yet, just call a CSR, ask them to rebate something close to the price difference, and save all the time and expense of shipping two printers. 🙂

I am surprised not many ppl jumping on this. That is a great price for a wide carriage 6 color photo printer. Canon's latest printer

Woohoo just did some thinking and managed to get this deal for $270 shipped with a usb cable and a lite on 16x dvd drive. I had a $100 off $400 coupon that I got from my friends system purchase, and the $100 off $400 stacked with $40 off $300 and I also got 10% off the dvd rom😀 Did a bit of looking awhile ago at printers and wanted this one, but it was a bit out of my price. Thanks for the deal rickn, just noticed a thread at dpreview about this same thing after I looked at your deal.

this is a hot deal, cost $400+ elsewhere.

and there is a $100 rebate if you buy a canon G2, S30, or S40 digital camera too! Buy at Dell Home and use the 10% off coupon.

Looks like a pricing error by Dell. $349 means that S9000 is priced exactly the same as S900 on Dell's web site. Got in the boat, too. It goes pretty well with my S40 and the extra $100 rebate with camera purchase doesn't hurt 🙂

NICE ONE, just ordered. This will go nicely with my s40, and final out of pocket $$$ is $218 (349-40-100AR+9SH)

Just called Dell and they gently credited me back for $144. So a retailed $500 decent printer, I just need to take out $189 outta my pocket. Sweet and nice!

does anyone know how this compares to the epson 1280? from the reviews, im leaning more toward this printer, but are there any graphic designers out there doing comps and such with this printer?

Check this link:

Shoot-Out: Canon S9000 vs. Epson Stylus Photo 1280

It seemed that Canon had an advantage in print quality and speed. Epson was said to be better in borderless printing, although the article didn't say specifically how so. In any case, with this price (~$300) and a possibly additional $100 coupon of the camera purchase, you can hardly beat S9000.

The quality between the two is debateable. Each can produce a better image than the other depending on the image. Ink jet printers nowadays are just really good at photo quality reproduction. I tend to like Epson's micro piezo technology better than thermal technology. Canon has the individual ink tanks and replaceable printhead. Epson has roll paper support, can print borderless 13x19, lots of paper choices. Canon you have to fool the thing into priting at certain borderless sizes. At the price dell has the s9000 for, there is no doubt it is the better alternative.

Don't underestimate the importance of the replaceable print head. I had an epson before and it turned to crap after 5 years because of the lack of replaceable print heads.

anyone got this deal to go through? ive read that some people got a call a few hours later stating that their order was cancelled due to a pricing mistake. gl guys.. i might just run down to staples and pricematch

Looks like they are doing some fixing 'cause their site is down (no response when I tried to send the order in) for the last couple hours.

And does Staples.com PM Dell.com?

It's amazing that they've got their web team screwing around with their production servers at this hour, total stupidity.

Looks like they're trying to redirect traffic to a non-existent cluster (wwwb.dell.com.)
