I hate to say it, but I wouldn't buy this card for $50. I owned one when they first came out, and that was a big waste of money. The 6600gt I upgraded from was just as fast. The 7800GTX I have now is far, far superior.

DON'T BUY IT!

Card is big & heavy. I opened the package and found VIVO cables. Anyone else verify this is VIVO?

Putting it in a Dell 5150 purchased from outlet.dell.com for $279.00
Bump up the RAM to 2GB and add an NEC 3550A DVD+-RW.... NICE !

Great deal if I get the rebate... (I better or they will get very tired of my daily calls!)

THANKS OP!

dude...the x850xt cannot physically fit in a 5150 ...

I know refrub has been pointed out already but Newegg also has these for $135 + $1 Shipping on their website open box. A better ddeal IMHO but this is pretty dec too. Nice card for a bargain rig.

the $170.00 after $30.00 rebate XFX XXX 7600GT 590/1600 will thump it pretty bad.

The 7600GT will have to overcome a lot to beat an X850XT Platinum Edition by a lot

GeForce 7600 GT vs X850XT PE
Core Mhz 560 vs 540
Pixel Shaders 12 vs 16
Mem type 128bit vs 256bit
Vertex Shaders 5 vs 8
Mem bandwidth 22.4Gb/S vs 37.76 GB/s

Good post!
Yeah, the 7600GT is by no means a bad card, but it will not beat the X850XT.

I second that. The 7600GT has features like Shader 3 and such, but it's hardly powerful enough to push such a feature in modern games anyway. It's advantages are negated where as the X850XT remains faster and cheaper.

Umm...you should try not posting crap.

Actually, doesn't that show the 7600gt beating the x850xt in 3 of the 4 resolutions?

yup you just reconfirmed what i said the 7600gt beats the x850xt pe, but thoses charts show a x850xt, and not the PE version, I would also assume the 7600gt in running stock speeds on those charts, and the ones i linked to are overclocked like 10% from the factory, so the 7600GT still beats the X850XT PE, 7600GT's are hitting 7500 or higher in 3mark05 on stock cooling easily, you would need a voltage mod and better cooling on a X850TX PE to get up around 7500 in 3dmark05.

svc has the cooler for it on sale for $10... svc

and a 2.2 a64 w/this card oc'd to 540/1200 gets 6300 3d05 for me... with the noisy fan at full speed and running about 67c...

and melissa at mc is a darlin' who'll help get your rebate... just call mc and they'll sort out your rebate, as long as u did the right things up front...

Just wanted to post an update -- bought the card april 21 and just got back from a business trip to discover the rebate check, printed may 15! now that was fast. I guess all the complaints about Microcenter-ATI rebates have worked.
