Looks like the ONVIA batterys are gone. I never dealt with them before...do they usually get these kinds of items right back in stock?

Also, isn't there a Toshiba battery/charger that is supposed to be better anyway?

Just got my DC4800 today from a local Staples store for ~$375 before rebate and was looking for a carrying bag and extra batteries. Did Onvia lower the price on the expansion pack? Is their inventory real-time? I ordered the pack for $64.84 shipped.

V00DOO:
my original UPC bar code was smeared by permanent ink which Walmart claim Kodak did it. I called Walmart and argue with them, they said they are negotiating with Kodak and assued me that I will get rebate. But I doubt it.
I am so jealous about those people who get <400 before MIR in local stores. :)

Sorry everyone but I think the thread was locked because of me. Today is the first time I used the PM feature and I thought it was okay to send out coupon codes if it was in a PM and not on the site. I guess I was wrong because I got a message from the Mods that I have to quit sending out PMs with codes or I'll be banned from the site.

I'm really sorry everyone. I was just trying to help.

Thanks for the explanation. I felt really bad when I got that message from the Mods and then saw that the thread was closed. I guess it was just a coincidence that the thread closed right after I got the message from the Mods. It makes me feel a little bit better that I'm not responsible for the thread closing.

legal matters huh?
i guess staples people must be reading this and trying to make the person who started the whole "kodak dc4800 now under $300" thing responsible or whatever.
they are really late to catcher up, oh well, i didn't get in the deal but i'm happy with the one i got from gateway.

i found out today that indoor shots, especially in somewhat dark environment, really suck.
maybe i used the wrong setting, but with flashlight all i got is 90% darkness.
got to read "more" on that tiny booklet.

Nothing illegal with the deal I got on Sunday. PM'ed the advertised price as of Saturday, used a $30 coupon they sent me. Prices change all the time, up and down. What someone idiot was doing in that thread was changing the newly advertised price of Monday, to the old price, on a screen shot he had taken and was offering it to those that hadn't printed it out. Knowingly trying to defraud a company because you missed out on the deal is wrong. That's why it got deleted.

Heard this is an issue. Have you upgraded to the 1.04 ROM? It is supposed to help.

Being a tech data customer I checked the price out on the dc4800. Currently they are giving the carrying bag away. The current price on this is $488.81.

TIPS FOR GOOD INDOOR PICTURES
Set the ISO speed permanently to ISO 100. You don't need the other settings, and they have too much "noise" in the pictures anyway.
In low light situations you will have problems with blurry pictures if you use the P setting on the camera because the camera will try to defualt to a 1/8 shutter speed. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to hold a camera steady at 1/8 sec shutter speed. When on P setting you can see what settings the camera is choosing if you have the preview LCD on.
For best pictures with or without flash set F-stop to 2.8 and try manual shutter speeds 1/15 sec or faster. Especially with the flash on I've yet to have a bad picture.
The camera is great, just some of the auto settings are bad...

yes, i've updated to 1.04 prior to taking those pictures.

thanks for all the indoor shots tips.
i guess "p" is the one setting that's throwing me off.
weird thing is it looks acceptable on the lcd, but total darkness after taking it.
i'll do more experiments.

Kodak's printed form, and because it was the only method I knew of at the time I sent for my rebate!

Wise words people should remember...

The DC4800 thread started out as legitimate. That is why we left it open. It turned into a cesspool of fraud.

We will always allow legitmate deals. We will not allow our members to defraud vendors. How do you expect them to stay in business? Do you just want them to stay around long enough for the deal vultures to pick their bones?
