Screwed and Backordered. Checked shipping info from Onvia and it said BACKORDERED. They still show the Battery/Charger combo in stock for $65.55, but the Expansion Pack is a no-go. I will try again with Amazon, as they sent me a Promo GC for $20.00 off a $100.00 purchase. After S/H, it came to less than 4 bucks difference and I received an immediate email that they had one on hand.

Link to the Expansion Pack at Amazon.

I just ordered the Kodak Expansion Pack for the DC4800 from Onvia for $82.98 SHIPPED.

Link to the expansion pack at Onvia.

Thanks to Letian for thinking of this, here is the link to the Batt/Charger for $65.55

Long story short, this includes a Li-Ion Battery and quick charger, a Kodak Logo camera bag, a lens pen and some 4X6 photo paper samples. At 82.98, it's not much more than what others are charging for the batt/charger combo and it comes with FREE UPS GROUND.

Interesting...when I first went to the Oniva site, it said that there were only 3 kits available, now when I ordered one, it still says 3 available?

Good point Letian, here is a link to just the battery for $65.55

I do need a camera bag, and for $15.00 I don't feel like I got cheated. I also have used the Kodak 4X6 paper and have had good results. The software that comes with the retail pack sucks, download the newest version of Picture Page Here.

The photos looked like crap using the W2K driver and the old program, this new version corrects that and produces nice photos.

Updated Info, Expansion Pack Deal dead at Onvia. Ironic, as Onvia shipped my SX1030 when Amazon couldn't come through with one, now Amazon is going to return the favor.

Good item to use your Ofoto 25.00 GC on. I am amazed at the flap the Li-Ion battery caused, I shot a full 64mb card the other day, and am still shooting on the same battery. I have yet to put the spare one in, and I have been using the camera for over two weeks now. I was really skeptical about the battery in this camera when I ordered it, but now can say I am more than pleased with it's preformance. With the expansion pack, you can carry everything you need in the camera bag, no long cords or transformer blocks to mess with. All in all it has been a happy experience with this camera. Nice of Hawkeye to bump this, I had forgotten about it and Amazon seems to be the only vendor with this kit in stock. Hope this helps someone, Mav

The Li-on battery on this camera is actually not that bad. I use mostly the monitor to take pictures and gets ~ 50 pics before it dies. If you only use the viewfinder and turn off the monitor, you can get up to 120 pics. It gets all that flap because IF you were able to stick 4 1600 Mah AA NIMHs, you would have been able to take ~ 100 pics my way and ~ 240 pics using just the viewfinder. The cost of 2 sets of AA NIMHs plus quick charger: $50. The cost of 1 set of proprietary Kodak Li-on plus quick charger: $60 (1 rechargeable comes free with the Kodak DC4800). It probably deserve all that flap because all dig. cam. makers are switching to proprietary Li-on battery packs to make more money.

Esquire: There are other Li-on batteries that can be used in the DC4800. Several other camera manufacturers make interchangeable batteries, ie, you can use Toshiba's M70's batteries as well as Fuji's NP80's batteries on the DC4800. These batteries, however, are very difficult to find. Check out Dpreview's Kodak Forum, www.dpreview.com and go to forums.

The rebate for specifies the SKU number for the 4800. The one with the 64 meg card and extra battery is the 4800EZ, and has a different SKU.

Also Walmart.com now states the 4800 they sell does not qualify either!
It looks like it comes with a 10 meg card instead of the 16.Prices around
the net have raised $25-35 in the last 48 hours!I hd to wait until I sold my
2020z to order. Now I think I may just order the Canon G1,and be done with it!

If you peel the stick covering the orignal UPC of the DC4800 from Sam's Club, you will get the original UPC (cat no. 146 5087)that qualify for the $100.00 rebate. Also you could see the original UPC number being covered if you look at the box. Good luck.
