Wow, this would almost be worth selling my 6800GT and grabbing this thing.

Very tempting...

Ordered one. it'll be worth it to sit out the x900 series and jump in next year sometime to upgrade. looks like I'll be swapping out the AIW X800XT for this X800XT PE and a Hauppage TV Tuner :)

Thanks people. I just ordered one for $221.71 - shipped (after applying the 10% off code found on Fat Wallet.com).

I currently have the Built by Ati X850 XT Platinum Edition and the X800 XT Platinum Edition ATI cards. In benchmark tests I've done, the performance of the X800XT PE card has been very close to that of my X850 XT PE card.

I don't really NEED another X800 XT PE card, but at this price I just can't pass it up. I guess I'll finally get around to building the killer HTPC I've been planning. :)

JR

PS: This card tends to run hot and the fan is a bit noisy. I highly recommend installing an Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 4 (revision 2 if you can find one). With the ATI Silencer 4, the fan is very quiet and the idle temps dropped form 44C to 39C (ambient 72F). The real improvement came with the card under load. Stock the temp under load was almost 70C and with the Ati Silencer 4, the load temp never topped 58C. Just my experience.

I'm in too...couldn't help it:) It's really a no lose situation....you get a 3 year warranty from ATI and I'll bet some folks receive brand new cards especially if there's lots of orders. This will tide me over in my "old" pc until the PCI-E cards come down a LOT more for my latest PC build (which will have PCI-E).

Sadly???? As long as a 3-4 week wait doesn't kill you...this deal is TOTALLY hot especially as an upgrade to a 9800 Pro or less!! Even if you get a dud card...ATI will replace it. Pricewatch indicates a "low" price of $408 for the x800xt pe...soooo, we're getting it for ~1/2 off the lowest price on pricewatch. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the x800xt pe also has VIVO?

This deal really can't be beat. I just hope my mobile XP2400+ clocked at 2.3 GHz doesn't starve this beast too much:)

I couldn't help myself either - even though I just started building a new system around a PCI-E only mb. Hmm, what to do... it's too bad the new Uli chipset boards with both AGP and PCI-E are not out yet.

LOL...tis true, but cheaper buying top line video cards on the cheap once in a while than gambling, womanizing or drinking too much;-)

Argh. I had to buy it even though I'm perfectly happy with my 9800pro. I hope they cancel my order ;). I gotta stop reading this forum...

Forthcoming AGP cards are an unknown, and even then you wouldn't be able to purchase this card new at this price.

I'm in for one to replace my 9700. Thanks! I'm glad I waited- I was going to pick the one up from Dell a few weeks ago with all the rebates and such.

Good timing too, I have a 2405FPW on the way, no way my 9800 Pro was going to be able to do 1920x1200 in any game.

I think I'm gonna change sides and sell the 6800 ultra. At this price I'll make money trading for a better card. Anyone know who has Silencer 4's in stock?

I believe the more buyers....the better chance for some of us to receive brand new cards:)
