lizardboy:

1. you ordered the xp1700+/ecs combo right? you will need pc2100 or faster for this. it would be a risk getting the pc1600.
2. the combo comes with a retail/boxed cpu, which includes a heatsinkfan. this one is adequate enough for non-overclocking systems. it's not loud like some of the high end hsf's out there. heh.
3. the heatsinkfan with the combo will have a thermal pad at the bottom of it. for non-overclocked systems this is fine. and it is preferable for users new to this stuff. 🙂 remember to remove the plastic film covering the pad. hehe

The Antec is far superior to the Enlight. I have an enlight and I like it but it just doesn't match up to an Antec. You'll see when you get it.

Hey Jimmy, My feelings exactly.😉

<< One more question guys, do ya think this is a better case than my Enlight 7237? >>

The SX830 is ten times better than your Enlight 7273.

Rebate at outpost now says purchase by 12/06/01, but the rebate form still says 11/30/01. Doesn't say anything about how many either, hopefully I can get two, I had one on order somewhere else and it hadn't shipped in a few days so I ordered this from outpost and as soon as I got to work I had the shipping confirmation from both places. Guess I got extra case.

Will this case fit a slotket'd Asus p3b-f? I'm tempted, but I have to decide soon for the rebate.

i've got my 1.2ghz thunderbird running in this case now and it rocks. i'm getting the itch to start building another pc. does anyone know how high a processor the 300 watt ps will support? or do i really need a 400 watt to go with a new high end processor?

Broadwayblue,

Just get yourself an Athlon XP and the 300 watt should be fine, depending on how much other stuff you add to the box.

I got free shipping when I ordered two cases from Outpost.
Paid $62.40 w/shipping but no ps from CD-R Express two weeks ago.
Bump for a well constructed case at a great price.

cool. do the xp's require less power?

Yes they do require less power. Which also means easier cooling. THis case will be perfect for my new XP 1600 that is on its way!

WIll I be able to swap out the power supply in this case if I want to pop in a higher end system( P4 or AMD 1.7 GHZ) later on ??

I bought this case a month or so ago at a computer show for $99. I've got to tell
you that I LOVE this case. the rail system works great. plenty of places for fans.
the fans just snap into a plastic holder. the drive cage is removable. there's a spot
for a fan right in front of the drive cage. I currently have an Athlon 1.4 in the case
and it runs fine.

I don't need another case right now but at this price I'll probably pick one up.

jsut orderd with 0.00 on the overnight delivery, we'll see what happens. Still want to know will I be able to swap out the Power supply at a later time?

just picked one up. guess i won't be waiting until next spring to start building my next pc. what am i going to do with my 8 month old 1.2 rig?

Anyone know where I can get some cheap thumb screws?

EDIT: And also where can I get some good/cheap 80mm fans for the front?

You should know that if you plan on running the new XPs that your border line with this 300w PS. Its not even on AMDs list of PS, thats prob why case is so cheap. AMD Approved PS Also look here Top 10 PS I just bought this case and its not hot deal but not bad for $60 the PS in it is on top 10 list. ENLIGHT EN-7237AZ MEDIUM TOWER P4 CASE - OEM with 340Watts Power Supply $60 at Newegg

Kevman,
Yes, you can swap out the power supply. I plan to put my Antec 400 watt in it asap. The deal is getting sweeter by the minute. I just called to see the status, and they are backordered, but she told me they looked like they would ship tonight, and yes, I did get free overnight shipping! whoo hooo!

Mustanggt,
You are right, 300 is pushing it, but it can be done, especially with the Antec ps. They are good quality ps's. I have the Enlight case right now, I just bought this Antec last night because it is a little bigger and the cooling is suppose to be better. Ever since I put my Best Buy GForce 3 Ti 200 in, my temps rose about 4 degree c, so I wanted a little better cooling. If I had known that you were gonna buy an Enlight 7237, I would have sold yu mine for $40🙂

what about the next generation of amd processors. isn't it true that as the size of the chips decreases the amount of power required to support them decreases...or is that completely wrong?

<< can somebody compare it the Nikao case from New Egg. It looks so beautiful >>

That thing looks sweet!! The only drawback is that they are more $$ and don't come with a PS like the Antec.

<< Power Supply: 300 Watt SmartPower ATX 2.03 including Pentium 4 PP303XP 400 Watt SmartPower ATX 2.03 including Pentium 4 PP412X >>

Why does it say both 300 Watt and 400 Watt? Is there a chance you can get it with the PP412X PS instead of the PP303XP? AMD says only the PP403X is approved for Athlon XP up to 1900+.

the descriptio listedin the description is a "300 Watt ATX SmartPower". is this the antec power supply or has it been replaced with a cheaper one.
