Dropping it to 2T did allow for a slight overclock, but still no sign of CAS2 at 166MHz :(

Will be getting mine today! (At least this is waht the FedEx tracking states)

So anybody observed any difeerence in quality of these sticks compared to previously owned crucial? I'm thinking of ordering another one from the same folks to reach 1 gig of RAM

Uhh.. any suggestions for my situation? I can't even get it to do cas2.5 at 166mhz

i'm running 133mhz cas 2 now because everytime i try to put it up to 166 (even when i do By SPD in the bios) windows is extremely unstable, and crashes everytime i load a game.

I would call Crucial and tell them your situation and they might RMA it for you;)

Anyway I just ordered some let's see how long it takes to get here.I'm only going to run it @150mhz so I'll see how aggressive I can take the timings to:cool:

Just to let people know, I had to RMA my stick back to CNETPC because of instability problems running at the lowest settings 166mhz. It corrupted my windows installation so bad, eventually I had to reformat and reinstall.

Is anyone having good luck getting this memory to run at stock speed (166MHz) or faster, or with decent timings? I finally bit after several people said it was in fact Crucial memory, but it hasn't shipped yet and if it won't do CAS 2 at PC2700 then it's no better than the true Crucial PC2100 memory that I have (which does CAS 2.5 at PC2700).

Well, guess I was right. They sold us customer return crap, that's why nobody can get those sticks running at decent speeds. Does anybody want to get in touch with Crucial and see if we can RMA those? I called the CnetMonkeys and they told me they'll charge a 20% restocking fee if I send those back to them.

Can you confirm this?? I got my DIMM and the gold connectors were untouched. It was not even slotten into any DIMM slots.

mine looked new, but who knows... maybe they were replated... anyway, I haven't had the opportunity yet to push this RAM and see how far it will go... with my present mobo (K7S5a Pro) and CPUCool I can only hit 166/166, but with conservative timings. Will have to wait until I get a different motherboard to really test this memory.

And exactly what facts do you base your comment on? My two sticks run perfect at stock speeds, and can run at cas 2 on my Intel MB though they dont do well at much other than that. This has usually been the case with larger sticks of memory, smaller sticks usually clock higher. The sticks I recived had never been touched, no marks whatsoever and had the rough edges on the PCB to prove it.

Anyhow all crucial chips have lifetime warranty, dont like them rma them

Thats actually what I was thinking, my roommates stick looked new, and since it is crucial, you can rma it whenever

Lifetime warranty only if bought directly from Crucial (at least least that's what their website says; I haven't tried calling them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't honor that warranty once they find out where those sticks came from).

High-Volume Ordering. I ordered on 2 seperate occasions and both times I got Crucial RAM. Interestingly enough, the module I recieved is listed as compatible for my A7N8XDLX yes I'd been reading that some sticks work and some don't. I'd rather underclock it to work with my old PC2100 stick so I have 1.5GB RAM...

Who told you that? I would say that's a BS. There are numerous vendors who sell Crucial sticks with life-time warranty.

I ordered on Saturday and got an email yesterday saying there was a problem with my CC. I called today and was told no, not a problem with the CC but that they are now backordered.

hmm... ordered 3 sticks on friday @ 62.00. I already have a gig of samsung in my box, but I'm betting on volatility and plan to sell these apparently crap crucial sticks on ebay in a month or so. Anyway, got my tracking number today and it looks like it should arrive this friday. Total of 7 days turnaround.
