Kodak

Both get great reviews. I may have to replace my Kodak 6440 and am interested in the deal you say you might get on the Kodak? I would love to get one if I have to replace the 6440/

Thanks

Just ordered one from staples with PM to buy.com. Total with tax/shipping was $159 (with 30 of 150 coupon).

Thanks for the heads up!

Just a note that you can buy at staples and get PMed to www.outpost.com ...just did it...though they added the $10 shipping that outpost had....so PM to 149 + 10 shipping ...$159 out the door and no coupons...BTW add the following:

Accessories Packages:
Digital Accessory Package (582776) ~$29
Digital Imaging Coupon Book (584304) ~$29
Coupon for both digital packages: $60 (90554)

$194.99 for me now. Unless maybe it changes when you submit the order?
Bah I don't want it anyways. I just like to see deals/their prices.

Do you buy the staples first and then pricematch? Also, is this over the phone or B&M?

Kodak

Granted, this is partially opinion and partially obtained from research, but a lot of the 5MP Kodak's that have been reviewed in PC Mag have been knocked for having soft IQ and producing results that are more comparable to a 4MP camera. The A75 is really a class-act of a camera for the sub-$200 market. Extensive controls (ISO Settings: Auto and 50-400, panorama capability, 9-point auto-focus, etc.). It's more than adequate for basic point-and-shoot, but is upgradable with additional lenses. I purchased a Kodak DX6340 on closeout from Office Depot a few months back. It wasn't too comfortable for my 'man hands', and the images came out a little darker than they should have been. I've seen pics from the 5MP Kodak that has the 10x optical zoom (DX7590) and the images looked very good, but the colors looked overly bright and somewhat artificial prior to adjustment using Photoshop.

I love my A70...however I am now looking for an upgrade due to wanting to print things bigger, and not the camera being inferior.

For the web the A70 was overkill, for many pictures output to paper - created images hard to tell what were the film images vs the digital....(printing with a Canon i960). Any images that were blurry or crappy were user error....the A series is more for those wanting to set things up, not purely point and shoot all the time.

Now that the G6 is 10% smaller than the G5...I may upgrade....then I think of EOS series and want to go that route (an old Canon A-1 35mm SLR user)...my wife was a Nikon 3.2MP compact that makes it easier for me to go a step bigger.

The A75 at $165 though is unbeatable I would say...these are great digicams. I am willing to bet if purchased at that price you could sell in 6-12 months and break even.
