Ya, the Amazon phone # is 800-201-7575. I would assume the drivers on Canon's site for the u2f can be used for the u2? They make me assume this, why can't they list the u2 on their driver page? I hate that. Seems like a simple thing to do.

I ordered mine on Tuesday (12/17) and it arrived on Thursday (12/19) with the standard (free) shipping!!! I was amazed. It is an attractive scanner, but I have yet to get it connected and try it. Some of the posts about quality and drivers have me concerned. I got it at the $49 - $5 coupon, so net about $45, and I am pleased with the price.

I wanted to add a thanks to all those that search and post often, and wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season.

i paid $47 for me. I ordered last night and it was $47. Great scanner i bought it for my dad. He need to created a powerpoint presentation for his medical students. He is a doctor, but the university invited him to teach, and i'm still trying just to finish regular university. Anyway i bought him with the negative slide adaptor, i paid $150 at best buy few months ago. If i need an adaptor then i'll borrow his. Great scanner. I haven't tested yet, because his computer doesn't have usb2, mine does. Is there speed boot?

Well,
My UMAX 6400 that I got for $49 finally went south. Remembered reading about the Canon on Tom's site and seeing it here... doesn't need to be accurate with photos... just must be able to scan text @ 200dpi... fair price for $49, so I bought it today :).

You can use the U2F drivers from the web for U2. Thats what I did. I don't have all the other software on the cd loaded though. I just use the aquire image option in ACDsee or photoshop to get images.

On my U2 box it says:

"This product cannot be used for scanning film. Film adapter option is not available"

This is on three sides of the box.

I'm just gonna use this to scan all my upc's and reciepts for rebates. I hate going to the copy place.

Maybe the artec scanner from staples for $10 AR would have been a better choice.

Ordered one and received it on the 23rd with free shipping! They said orders that needed to be received before Xmas had to pay normal shipping or wait until the 2nd of Jan for delivery. I opted for free shipping and still received it early. Awesome scanner, great post! Cheers.
