Received my scanner today and tested it out with very dissapointing results. With the drivers included in the box the output was not nearly as nice as my Canon N670U. I thought I was buying a higher quality scanner but I guess not. The colors on the D1250U2 were muted and dark compared to the N670U
I reinstalled the newest N670U drivers and rescanned - the results were even better than my original N670U scan and way better than the D1250U2 - so it looks like drivers may make a difference. I will update the drivers for the D1250U2 and give it one more shot tomorrow. I don't see any drivers for the D1250U2 on the Canon web site - I will assume the D1250U2F will work?
Same question, anyone have any experience scanning negatives? what do u think?
Have you guys changed the dpi when scanning? I downloaded the drivers for the U2F for my U2 and it defaults at 75dpi(you can change it) when scanning.
u can change the dpi. and it givs a much better result

I've had mine for about a week now. It's on USB 0.1 until Staples gets around to sending that free (AR) USB card. The image quality is ever so slightly better than my last $45 scanner (Umax 6400 Firewire) but gawd damn is it slow! Wow. I mean really, really slow. I know it'll speed up on 2.0 but what's with the 30 second "lamp adjustment" before each and every preview or scan? The old scanner would do 10 previews in the time this thing takes to adjust the lamp. Unless USB2.0 somehow makes this thing adjust it's friggin lamp in a reasonable period of time I'm going to take it outside and bash it against the curb until my knuckles bleed.
