lokni: just call the 800 number listed in FW and ordered on the phone, if that doesn't work, hit up the local stores. I did it today and it worked, so it still might not be too late ... wish you luck!

Thanks Lord, OM opens at 7am tomorrow in my area so I think I will get up early and go before class tomorrow. Hopefully I find one at the local store. If not.. oh well. I hate dealing with backorder stuff.

Class is at 9:30 and OM opens at 7... I should be fine. I am going to Europe for the entire summer and I need a camera. If I can save $100 on the regular price from local stores... that is $100 more I can spend on stuff while I am in Europe (particularly Amsterdam... ;-) )
 
of course i just consolidated my CC's, and now dont have any space left on the 1 i have left to buy this, damnit damnit damnit, and i was looking for a new digicam too 🙁

Yes this is still alive as of 10 minutes ago, I just ordered two separate times for friends. It takes a lot of patience though, good luck you're going to need it.

They were back-ordered for about 2 weeks.
 
I just called twice and both ladies told me there are no s200 in stock and they are not offering any substitutes. Now she did say local managers can do what they want but I doubt they will take a internet coupon ruining this deal.
 
This is freaking impossible. I keep getting the same damn people. I've probably hung up on everyone there twice... The last lady was actually honest with me though and told me that the A70 is going on sale this weekend so it was a mistake of them to offer it as a sub for the S200 because it's depeleting their stock for the weekend. I'll try some more later tonight but it's not looking good considering I just spent about 20 minutes trying to get someone there to backorder it for me. Strangely enough one lady checked and said that they had the S200 in stock which must mean in their warehouse since she hadn't asked for my zip.
 
Just a general comment about the camera (I got it about a month ago). Pictures are very good and it is quite easy to use. I haven't been to impressed with the bundled software, it seems kind of clunky and made for inexperienced users. I wish the response time of the camera was a little better, since it is hard to capture action shots (my girlfriend's nikon 3100 seems to be better here).

Also, the getting service on this camera is a pain in the butt. If you have any problems, you have to pay to ship the camera to Illinois where they will give you an "estimate" about how long and how MUCH it will take to repair it. This is not my idea of great service, especially since they can't seem to give me any idea if the repair is even covered! I am very dissapointed in Canon.

Was quoted delivery date of 29th, but UPS just brought the camera today. CF card is Lexar Compact Flash (12x speed) and the package for the CF card says "USB enabled", Camera is A70 and the Dazzle CF Reader.

UPS guy (of course) didn't say anything about a coupon.

260 from dell with a 256 meg cf...so it's not that big of a difference...i guess

the ferengi in me feels crushed. 🙁
