I just ordered it. The people answering the phones have to be the most uneducated
bunch I have ever dealt with. Couldnt use the 50 dollar off coupon but was able to use the
25 dollar off coupon. Total was 242.63 sent to Arizona.
 
well i got in and used a different phone number and set up a new account. i just played dumb the whole time and the lady was very nice and walked through the whole process perfectly. she even let me use the $50 coupon before she applied the coupon for the free compact flash so that i wouldnt have to add a filler item. the total came out to $216.49 to cali. all 3 items are backordered, but i'll wait at that price.

I called the 800 number yesterday, and they said they were out of the S200 in my area, but they would sell me the A70 at the same price. The CSR accepted my $50 coupon, so I was expecting the CF card, media reader, and A70 today for $215 including tax. The box was waiting for me when I showed up to work at 9, but unfortunately it contained a 128MB CF, a 32MB CF, and an S200. Not a particularly bad deal, but I don't want the S200. I returned it the store this afternoon and the assistant manager was excited to see an S200 come back, because they were out of stock, and she wanted to buy one. I guess she probably doesn't know about the A70 substitution.

I'm in the queue for a $260 A70 with 256MB CF from Dell, but with the forums help hopefully I can beat that deal before Dell ships in 2 weeks.
 
Just ordered one here in nyc by calling 877-OFFICEMAX. Unfortunately the lady wouldn't take any additional 25 or 50 dollar coupons because she said she already put in a coupon for the free Lexar 128MB card. Total after taxes is $270.61. Still not a bad price for a canon a70 and a 128 MB CF card. At the time of this posting OM had 2 left in stock for shipping in the Queens,NY area .


I called back a little while later and successfully applied 50 dollars off of 250 with no problems for a final total of 216.49. AWESOME DEAL !
 
yeah, i'm in boston area too, tried last night and this morning, both time no go. so i gave up. I saw this deal since monday, this most be some kind of repost.

i did score the s200 deal before it was OOS, i also saw that the a70 will be on sale during the week of 6/1 for 200 AC. i was going to wait until 6/1 to ge the a70 as well. it turned out that the a70 deal was incorrect. it will be 250 AC, which makes this current deal burning hot. i was going to get both for 200 each and decide which one i want to keep and egay the other one to make a quick 50 return.

anyways, what i'm trying to say is "If you are thinking if you should get this deal or not, DON'T. Just go ahead a get it, this deal is a no brainer. It's a killer price for a killer camera. you can easily egay it for >50 profit if you decided not to keep it. Also, please don't get this if you are just going to egay it.
 
I got this to work just now. Simply asked for the s200 and she said out of stock, but didn't offer anything else. I inquired and she said the a70 was a replacement. I told her I had the camera in my cart with a coupon that i got from my email and she asked a few questions and accepted the 40 off 250 with no added paper clips, etc. Total came to 224.69 shipped to ohio.

My girlfriends cousin will be so happy when i tell him how cheap he can get all this stuff for.
 
Just tried a 3rd time at the 877 number and was told that the a70 replacement was a typographical error, and that they're disocontinuing it. They do have the s200 available for back order in the Boston area. I changed my mind and decided to wait it out and try to score an a70 at a good price elsewhere. She said they were upgrading their systems and sounded like a bunch of confusion was going on so not sure how legit the discontinuing info is.

that person didn't know what they were talking about. the s200 is being discontinued, and they aren't getting anymore in. the a70 is a new model, and besides they are having it on sale in 2 weeks anyway. that makes no sense.

yes, but you can't use the coupon. it will be $250 + tax. still an incredible deal for this camera. check out the ratings and review

Jimmyjam, what part of Cali do you live in? I'm in LA and called to order this, but unfortunately they have the S200 in stock.

Nevermind. Now they are saying neither is in stock and they are not allowing back orders either.

i'm in LA also, redondo beach to be exact. hopefully they dont ship me the s200. they said it was all out of stock and so was the a70, but theyd backorder the a70. i guess i'll find out by next week.

perhaps ur 50 off was invalid. who knows? maybe they entered ur coupon code and it was one that got invalidated, cuz when the lady entered mine, i heard her say "hey it works!"
