A tip for the gamers who would like to get new games at a low price quickly.

Buy the game when it is released from BestBuy, then wait for the best speical in the next few weeks either from a competitor or from BB itself. Bring the receipt back and get your 110% diffence back. BestBuy usually is not the store to have it on the first day, but fairly short after release. Their pricematch period is 30 days, giving you plenty of time to find a better deal to PM.

I got this game from BestBuy on Saturday for $49.95 and went back with the receipt and CompUSA's weekly insert on Sunday PM'd to $38.95.

Remember match to the competitor's price if you can find one, even if theirs is the same as BestBuy. BestBuy only gives you 100% differnece refund over their own price, but 110% over competitor's.

Amazon has lowered their price on BF1942 to $39.99 today. use one of the
$5 off coupon codes to get it to $35 with free shipping.🙂

Keep in mind, if you use a coupon (such as the $5 off in most gaming mags) and try to price match it, they will give you the difference less the coupon (you'll lose the coupon). It's they way its "worded" on the reciept. It blows.

my favorite thing to do with games these days is to play with 2 or 3 other friends (total 4 people playing) on my LAN at home. usualy i like to play co-op (everyone on the same team). does battlefield support this?

i suppose one of the draws of battlefield is the feel of being in a big battle... meaning lots of combatants involved. if i have only 4 real people playing does the computer put AI in for every one else? like can i do a 12v12 battle with only 4 real players on one team?

finally, what are the rules of the game. im a big fan of tactical shooters like rainbow six and ghost recon. does game have option for one-shot-kills? or do i have to hit someone 12 times with a rifle to kill them? also, does game have option to disable respawning? one life per player...

thx

Don't believe you can run without spawning - as that is how game is hinged. Each side has certain amount of points or "tickets." Kill an enemy, they lose a ticket Get them to zero and you win. You want to play WW2 without respawning you'll have to play Medal of Honor.

Can kill someone with sniper rifle to head or neck, but hard to do as people always moving. Otherwise its like 3-5 shots to abdomen.

This is NOT the most realistic game. Arc on cannon fire is absurd. Planes being shot down by small arms fire is too easy. Tanks being blown up by three grenades is ridiculous. But it is LOADS of fun. If you want real, go play Ghost Recon.

Yes, you can run bots if you wish - although I have only tried it by myself to practice. Dont know about local LAN setup but it seems likely. You can alos set the "level" of friendly fire - whether it is 100% damage down to 0%. Nice touch.

Oh, forgot to mention

Don't bother buying this unless you have at least 512mb of RAM!

That is all, you may now return to your regular broadcast

Runs fine for me on 384 MB

The servers are what makes it choppy. The graphics are actually pretty cheesy - not many animation frames.

The problem is that you can't host much more than a 4 person game on a DSL/Cable Modem line and there are too many folks trying to do just that.

in the 1.1 patch it says
-Added server CPU info in the in-game browser under the server info>rules tab.

I gotta check that out...it'll tell you if the server can handle the load. I'd say about 20% of them out there can't.
It's runs just fine and I only got 256MB of ram. I wouldn't recommened anything less though. Also a 1GHz is kinda required even though
the official game recommends 800MHz.

amazon is shipping it via usps...when in the crap did they do that. I got tracking numbers but it just says the po got 'em. f

If anyone wants this game, I'll sell it to you for $35 shipped for free. It's brand new. Paypal only of course.

That's okay...I think I'd rather have an uncompromised CD-Key

And take it to FS/T
