How is this case quality wise? I love their Aria Line, and I have one, but it is very difficult to work on it, and difficult to add extra hardware. I wonder if their panels are as nice as Aria, and what are you guys using for power?

Any good deals on quality & quiet power supply?

Antec NeoHE 550w Modular PSU

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago. Antec recommends getting either the Phantom or the NeoHE series of PSUs for their P180, P150 and Solo chasis. I love that its Modular and its really VERY quiet. Plenty of power for SLI rigs or whatever you need power-wise

Priced very nicely at $70 when newegg has it for $115

AFAIK "call for availability" indicates that they are out of stock.

Hot! I paid $130 shipped (cheapest on PriceGrabber) for this only 4 or 5 months ago. This is an excellent case, blows my Sonata II out of the water.

I have the Sonata 1 and I don't feel a need to change. Besides, the Sonatas come with a PSU. How does this beat the Sonata?

I just went to read the reviews about this case at the Egg and found the Sonata II on sale for $60 after a $40 MIR. Shipping adds an additional $16. So if the cases are comparable, you can get the 450W PSU for the $26 more. Oops, forgot about sales tax. Here in AZ it would be about $6.40, so you get the PSU for about $20 more. Does the Sonata suck that much more than the Solo?

Problems with the Antec PSU? Read reviews.

I own the white version, the P150, and I have studied the Sonata I and Sonata II and Solo in person several times. The P150 and Solo are better quality cases. The problem they had with the power supply included with the P150 is old news. That has been corrected.

I agree. I went to Compusa and compare P150 and Sonata II, and there is no comparision on the build quality. P150 is much better built quality. I ran across review online which author compare Solo as smaller brother of P150 for people who wanting the black version of p150.

Thanks for the info on Power Supply.

The Solo is not smaller than the P150. Same size case. Main difference is no drive doors and color. That's a plus. I just had my second drive door on my P150 fail to close. The metal spring likes to wear on the plastic lug. I had one fail a few months ago. Email to Antec tomorrow.

I just got mine today, came a day earlier than expected, nice surprise. The case is beautiful and the inside is great quality but sadly my reset button broke the second time I used it; quick fix with some super glue, but frustrating nonetheless.

My SOLO and 3rd FAR Ultra V psu arrived today. (placed order on sunday) Great deal! I can't believe I'll have this nice case sitting around as a spare. It's better quality than I expected. The panels are piano black gloss and have sound dampening sheets on the inside. The front panel looks excellent matches my Logitech UltraX keyboard. The four internal 3.5 bays have rubber mounts and some kind of suspension bands as well. This is my 3rd Antec case (P180B & SLK1650B) and they never disappoint me. If a good deal on a retail 939 processor came out I could load this up and have another nice system.

I changed all my hardware over to this case last night took 2 hours, This case is nice but it is not as silent as i was hoping I have the antec trupower 480 and with that and 120 fan in case there is much fan noise in back of case, the hard drive mounts are nice but dont tip the case when you move it or the hard drives will slide right out🙂

If you are using the drive sleds, you gotta push them in until they lock on each side. If they are in correctly, they won't move anywhere when moving. If you use the elastic mounts, they don't recommend moving the PC with drives in the elastic. You probably know all this, but others may not.

I ordered the case on the 4th and received it the 8th and send in the rebate that same day. Now the rebate status:

We have received your submission and it is being processed. The estimated mail date for your check is 06-Feb-2007

Excuse me !!?? Hope I get it sooner than that 🙂

That's pretty good compared to office depot rebates...

I wouldn't be too concerned; like I said, I mailed it in the 8th of November and it just showed up (3 weeks later!).
