I've had one Antec rebate not come through (from past May). Another one for an Antec product, but actually a Circuit City store rebate never came through. :|

Well, at $80 shipped it's still a good deal. Not that I'd turn down the rebate.

From what I've heard, people haven't had much of a problem as far as cooling goes. Unless you're overclocking a ton with just air cooling I think you should be fine. You really don't even need front fans if you're not overclocking. However if you need more front airflow I think removing the dust screen would help a great deal. I removed it and tried blowing on my hand through it and without it and there was quite a difference. As far as I can tell it is a very sturdy case made with quality materials. The silencing features (HDD suspension + sound deadening panels) as well as the cable management system are a great bonus. Buy it!

yes, very good deal. I have the P150. The Solo does away with the drive doors that the P150 has. That's a plus.

Any recommendations on a good deal on a SILENT 92mm fan for the front?
I'm looking at these two.
Which one to choose?

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa92ulqu.html

http://www.coolerguys.com/840556054061.html

The Nexus claims to be quieter, and the reviews for it on the net seem to say it is. I'm going for that one.

I'm tempted to get the 120mm version of the Nexus, too, since it holds the same super-quiet claims. Might be a good replacement for the standard fan that comes with the case.

19 dBA versus 27 dBA at lowest CFM........that's a no brainer.

I agree that getting Nexus 120 for the back exhaust is a good idea but I suggest to try out the TriCool first and see if low to med settings work out for you, acoustically.

Picked it up along with two of the antec 92mm tricools from svc (cheaper by a couple bucks total).

Finally a case that isnt missing bay covers and looking like crap.

If noise is an issue, the people at SPCR seem to feel that aluminum cases in general will make for louder systems. The SOLO has sound-dampening material and uses thick steel. Not sure how big of a difference it'll make, and maybe your choice of cpu/vid/system/ps fans and hdd will be what makes a more noticeable difference..

If you want it more for quiet, then the Solo since the Lian Li PC-7B Plus doesn't have too many "quiet" features. Actually it only has one, and that's 120mm fans front/rear. There's an 80mm blowhole, the aluminum is quite thin for a Lian Li and nothing is damped. I used it for my wife's computer and it isn't super quiet - reasonably quiet but definately makes noise and I used Cooler Master quiet fans and Zalman fan-mates all around, plus partially suspended the hard drive.

Do you guys think I could cool my rig:

Ultra V-Series 500-Watt ATX Power Supply
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Clawhammer Processor Socket 754
120GB Samsung 7200RPM PATA HDD
320GB Western Digital 7200RPM PATA HDD
eVGA e-geforce 6600GT 128MB AGP 8X

With just the TriCool set at low-setting? I have a AC 64 Pro on the processor.

I have a P150 and a dual core 4200 with the AC 64 Pro. No overclock, temps with full load run about 45. I do have 2 front fans since I have 2 500GB drives in there. The 2 front fans do add noise though.

Bah, I don't think I'd order it from Fry's... 3.26 / 10 on resellerratings in the past 6 months. Not worth the risk IMO.

I just bought RAM from them last week and the service was great. The buying process was smooth and the RAM arrived less than three days later. I didn't realize that their ratings were so bad... but suit yourself.

There is no risk as long as you understand how the company works.

#1 Shipping defaults to 2nd day when you go checkout, so anything advertised as "free shipping" is not free until you manually select ground shipping during checkout.

#2 Inventory and ordering... you can order anything listed on the site, however only items listed as "In stock, same day shipping" is actually in stock. Everything else will be backordered or cancelled.

Those account for many of the "very dissatisfied" reviews on Resellerratings.

BTW, DHL just showed up with my Antec Solo a few minutes ago.

This guy is right. Read what people actually put down. It is along the lines of "Well gee I didn't know I had to choose what shipping I wanted, they scammed me"
"They're out of stock because I waited too long to buy it. They tricked me!"

Fry's isn't the best but they're still good.

I've done the whole wrong shipping thing before, but if you notice right after checkout, it takes about 15 minutes to call and get changed, which is well worth the usual ~$15. If only their site would take the kind of shipping you get the quote on and not always default to 2 day...
