I didn't go through all of the thread.. All I heard was a bunch of questions. Basically, if you want to use surround sound you have to use the dolby button. Otherwise the satellites aren't on. They are also very faint, hard to hear so it isn't really good for listening to music, maybe movies. But otherwise, he speakers rock and so does the sub. Definately worth $30 and $80 for that matter.

Sort of ot but are Spawndude and TimidOCer the same person? Spawndude says how he got his speakers. Astrochimp says if he means they were shipped he's not being truthful. Then TimidOCer says Sorry, I meant I ordered. ????

I think egay for this kinda shiet is damn cheap.. I mean go for the stuff u want.. and leave some for other ppl that actually want it.. buying 100 of them is just damn cheap.. share the wealth!!!

but still, these lurkers are damn annoying. i mean think about it. if some smalltime store manager came in and started buying things from deals posted here with his funds, he can make a million. and i thinkt he whole point of this forum is NOT for those entrepreneurs in the business, but for those of us who would like to purchase things for ourselves (or friends and family) as opposed to making a profit off of them. ebaying something you own that you no longer want is perfectly normal, but i suppose some people just care about the god damn money.

money... it's a crime, really :\ and dont be using that "i'm in college, so i get to make money however i can" excuse. what makes you think you'll stop doing this when you're OUT of college?Well, I'm in college and i dont do this stuff. Go get a REAL job. do some REAL work to earn your bucks instead of waiting for somebody nice to post a deal and profit off of other's research... you _SAVE_ money here, not MAKE money. plus, this kind of stuff discourages people from posting deals since they know a bunch of fools will try to make a profit off of what they post instead of saving some bucks...

blah i'll stop my rant. flame me, but try to keep it off the forum.

Astrochimp, are you kidding? You've been around long enough to know that people get alot of items due to pricing errors. Quite a few people got Dell 4300 computers for about $200. We got the Epson 880 printer for $63.xx (when it was still priced at $129) with a $30 rebate. Geez, there's too many things to list that people have got due to pricing errors. And I must add, Dell's the best at that!
 
Oh man....don't forget the crazy LCD deal....when people got projectors for $350....🙁 I couldn't be more regard than that..... so I jumped on this deal immediately!!!
 
actually, i'm only mad at those who don't give others a chance to get in on this deal.

I got mine (quantity of one for my desktop) 5 minutes after the thread was first posted with the 2nd mail confirmation for the 21st.

An example would be the ubid fiasco where some people purchased 20+ systems to sell (because of the low price) resulting in a pricing error. they were given 20 x I believe 50 dollar gift certificates ;o

but I do believe in first come first serve. is dell just stupid or what? what's up with their order system on what is in stock...? it's still in stock?

us dude, did you see the 😉 on it? i was just kidding. i ordered 2 sets: one for me at college, one for family at home.
 
Ok, since no one really explained the setup on these speakers. I've had a pair for the last year so.. here it goes.

there are 5 pieces to this system. 2 Main speakers, 2 surround sound units, and 1 sub woofer.
there are 2 inputs, one for the RCA plug, and one for the regular 2.5(1.5?) mm audio jack. THIS IS A TWO POINT ONE(2.1) system. ONLY FRONT channels. (heh, but since I own a pair already i'm buying another one for a 4.2 system =). )

The sound quality is great, it doesn't distort pretty much AT ALL unless you've got volume turned up to 100%(I have treble on the speaker system turned up to ~75% power, the bass set to standard), and even then, not much. I have to admit though, the 2 surround speakers kinda suck. So I mainly just use the 2 main speakers(note: the surround units are off completely unless you press the dolby digital surround button)

at this price, for the sound quality you get it's insane! Simply insane! I hope I get the extra set i ordered. =)

Aren't the chances of people actually getting the speakers when they order this late just about nill. I mean I ordered at 12:00a.m. on wednesday and I doubt I will get mine.
