i know for a fact optical cables are not RCA type cables. they have sort of a bulb looking thing at the end. i don't know what these come with since i haven't gotten them yet, but that would be cool if it comes with optical cable, then i will go get fortissimo II.

Previous Dell Buyers: If you received the email that states that the order is in production upon authorization...and you paid with a valid credit card so you know there's no problem with the payment mechanism, at least on my end...and the email contains your customer number and order number, is it highly likely that you get your order? Is this just the Dell way of order fulfillment or is there still a hurdle to overcome with Dell...like Michael Dell waking up tomorrow and seeing the need to fulfill 1000s of refurbished Altec's and just deciding to cancel the lot?

if you haven't done so yet, remember you have to type in your customer number from the email, into the account order page. i wasn't getting anything either till i did that.

Welp, I got sick and tired of everyone trying to rip Dell off, so I called up one of their CSRs, and informed them of the situation. They said that they were aware of the pricing error, and that they were fixing it. They told me that they're also in the process of cancelling all orders that went through, and all future orders. I also brought up the NICs for $.95, and the lady said they're handling that also. The CSR lady was so kind as to thank me for informing them of their errors! I feel like a saint. Merry Christmas! :D

According to the Altec Lansing Website, they use SPDIF for dolby digital.

I had to call for free shipping yesterday.
CS told me to hang on for verification our system has a big GLITCH & some other problems.
I got the e-mail confirmations,but on order status page on their site 2 orders say they are trying to fullfill order etc.
Shows a ship date & all,but there's that little note above what I ordered!
Was up wit dat?

you act like they wouldn't notice the huge spike in orders and check it out. you basically did nothing, because they were going to notice sooner or later. ho ho ho to you too.

anyone ever get their free 32MB after mail-in rebate? bastards at samsung sent me a card saying that the UPC symbol didn't match their promotional offer. though i sent in the rebate to "You Choose" address, some how their "Samsung/Yepp Techno $50" Department is handling it. seems like they are pulling a fast one. DAMN YOU BUNGHOLIOS!!!!!!!!!!!! dirty whores have convinced me never to buy samsung, ever again.

No, I'm not kidding. If this board doesn't allow coupons, it shouldn't allowing deals that are based on pricing errors. The CSR said the price should have stated $124.95.

Rats!!!! Ordered, but looks like I'll have to pay $8 for shipping. I was under the impression that free shipping was free till today 12/12.

And then reading that it it looks like all orders will be canceled because of pricing error. :disgust:

I have to believe that this is some sort of glitch to. I mean this is across a few forums with probably a few thousand ordered and it never seems to go out of stock. Lets look at the NIC example at $0.81 each how many do you think were ordered? I ordered 20 my father 10 when does the madness end?

I bet ragedope f*cked up the system before he left when he got fired for being such a big loser, now he is calling in to Dell to hear them squirm.

Hmm...I ordered mine today, and I chose 2 day delivery because I go home for christmas vacation next thursday. Hopefully dell will ship mine out by monday..

I do happen to run a small business, but I can't find a place to set up an account with Dell. Got the speakers at a good price ($34), but the lower the better.

Can someone post a URL, or at least a decent hint?

Hey, 1 is 1 better than NOTHING! That would still be fine with me. And for those people who call and 'check' that the deal is not a pricing error, that's kinda lame. I mean, really, they'll figure it out themselves when you've got thousands of orders. If you're so obsessed with 'helping' the company, why don't you pick up a job app and fill it out? :p

Although I'm pretty happy with my Altec Lansing ACS48 I wouldn' t mind upgrading to surround. Might be nice to actually use my DVD player to watch movies for once. :)
