I've got the ACS-495 3 piece system, they show these at $135 refurbished....so I'm not sure if these 880's would be a upgrade?

BTW.. for those of you having problems getting the Small Business discounts...I was having the same problems. Evertime I added it to my cart, it kicked me back to home office. What I had to do was go to Dell directly (i.e. not through any of the links in this thread) and then go into small business and search for the speakers (they are under peripherals-multimedia-speakers and subwoofers I think). Anyway, when I added it to my cart via this method this discounts showed up!
 
another question:
because it has an AC-3 decorder circuit , I don't need a AC-3 decorder in my computer to enjoy the AC-3 sound as long as I have S-pif output in my soundcard. is this right?

These are 5 piece 5.1's with a virtual center channel. Oh, yeah, just ordered mine, too. Shouldn't look at Hot Deals when I'm on my way out the door to work. Now I'm late again. Screw them. Cheap speakers are more important than a job. I think. Gotta pay the CC bill, though. Damn. Decisions.
 
This reminds me of the refurb Santa Cruz deal (although the discount was less). Dell puts up the price, and expects a certain return rate from people who bought retail. If there are less returns, there are less refurbs to go around.

Dell's site is so slow and clunky, I couldn't get the 15% off and free shipping but at this price I ordered four.

I do believe this is a price error too but who cares? It may still come. Remember the 42" Plasma from Dell for $350? A lucky ass got three of this for that price.

I wanted the ADA 880s about a year ago but since I got in on the Z560 deal... heh I'm not gonna part with it for a longgg time 🙂
But seriously, these are cool speakers for this price. 4.1 with a remote control and digital? It has to be a pricing error.

Dang, I shouldn't said that, now everyone's order gonna be back ordered, just like all the other Dell deals. I'd be lucky if I could get them next xmas. Hey, maybe this is what Dell is doing. You pay now, and a year later when the item drops in price Dell will magically have everything in stock and ship it to you. Hmm, very interesting......
 
Wow, I am now thoroughly convinced that Dell does not have an up to date in stock system. I just ordered these at 9:29 PT for 22.90 shipped and it showed in stock, even after all you other Hot Dealers got in. My fingers are crossed so hard, they've melded into one huge digit. I need to replace the rinky-dink speakers I've had for years now.

i'm a bit confused by this. Can someone clear this up for me? If I can't use it as a 4-speaker set up for gaming, does that mean they revert to 2.1?
 
Ordered around 12am today, still no second confirmation email, just like with the Z560s. Guess I'll need to call the monkeys again. :| But then again, it's probably not worth the effort.
 
ordered mine for ~$23 with 15% off and free shipping. it was showing up free shipping in the cart, but after I enter in the rest of the info it showed that I had to pay $8 for shipping. i hit the back button and changed the shipping address and again the shipping charge is still there, i did this one more time and finally got the free shipping to work. weird....but i got it for only ~$23 and shipped free. don't why this happened....

 
Couldn't give into the temptation. Argh. Like how many of us really need "new" speakers anyway? Haha. Wonder if my wife will notice the new speakers if I hooked them up when she wasn't around?

Also have to remember that these *are* refurbs - not brand new.

Maybe it is like when MCI was giving $150.00 GC to Amamzon for signing up for their business service plan. It was a move to make things look good on paper for year end sales.
This stuff at Dell seems similar. Not making a fortune on this stuff but shows a huge increase in sales before year end. Anyone have an opinion on this thought?
