ahh... the story of scsiohio is killing me. I wish I hadn't read what he wrote...:disgust:

oh well. I guess I'll just study hard and make lots of money, so $300 would feel like $30.

<< right on almost all counts, except nobody in audio calls even the prologic four channel. it is a 4 channel setup, but the back two are matrixed, so the most you can call it is a 3.1 setup, if even that. >>

I'd agree with you on that point. I'm just saying that combining two sets of 4.1 speakers won't make an 8.2 system. In fact, even the best receivers that I've seen only have 7.1.

yep, like i said, you were right on almost all counts.

my denon 5800 is one of those with true 7.1 - the only official format with that is DTS ES discrete. it sounds amazing with good speakers (i have mirage OM-9's, and OM surrounds, costs around 4 grand, got it for 1 grand). i was seriously thinking about hooking it up just for fun to the computer.

This is directed to individuals who did not get any confirmation emails from Dell. I ordered a set very early in this threads posting and have still not received any confirmation emails. After 2 days of watching this thread grow, I decided to attempt to order again, as I feared I would be a victim of the "disappearing order" scam. I ordered two more sets just before the shipping deal expired (literally at 11:55 cst) and received both emails for the second order. When I went to check on my order with my newly assigned customer order number, I noted that the first order was in the system and was in process. If I had not ordered the second set, I do not know if I would have ever been able to check on the first as I believe you are required to have both the customer number and order number to check. I am new to AT and this is my first order from Dell. I really think that my decision to order from them ever again depends on how well they deal with this situation. I have ship dates of 12/21 (first order that was never emailed confirmed), and 12/26 on second order. Did not want this many sets, guess they will be gifts.😎

Come on, this is a screwy situation. Nobody should be upset, only disappointed, if this deal doesn't go though. Dell probably received 1000+ orders for these speakers and people probably ordered like 50000 of them (guessing). And you're upset because Dell system lost track of your attempt to scam some speakers from them? Deal with it. I'm scamming them too but I won't be upset if this doesn't happen.

Oh wow, that means I might get those after all. Wonder how they gonna sound compared to my Z560s 🙂

To clarify, if they deal with this in a professional manner I will be satisfied. If they just ignore the situation and do not adequately respond I would consider whether or not I would place a "legit" order from them in the future. There are just too many places too get a good deal to be messin' with people. (I will always go after these kind of deals though😀). I also do not feel it is a "scam", as you call it, when they advertise this price!!!

The only orders I've ever placed with them were these "super" bargains 😉

xsecurity, I don't envy you at all; now you're beyond the return period and these things are refurbished with a reputation, explained herein, of their sub-woofers crapping out. I guess you're stuck with them now with no alternative.

Am i missing something?

Hmm, just checked on my order status and it says.... CANCELLED!

I got both acknowledgement and confirmation emails, and Dell never emailed me about cancelling my order! I'M PISSED! Time to bitch out those stupid CSRs...

I just checked my order and it's still in production... Ship by date of 12/21/01.

I ordered 2 one for each comp of mine and I did em on different orders.. both in small buisness and both about 2 minutes from eachother.. on seperate orders that is. Well I got confirmation on both orders and second email but the first one I oreded still says its in preprocessing the second one is in production ? WTF?

Well just wait to see I guess

:| My Belkin 81 cent NICs ordered on 12/12 are:

"Delayed Items

Currently one or more items are not available. Every effort is being made to complete your order. "

sup w/ that?

the ADA880's ordered on 12/13 are "In Production" allegedly going to be shipped by 12/26

NEone have experience w/ the deal being so hot that the supply is gone? I'm sure you do...do they SIMPLY cancel your order...or is their an entire ordeal behind it?

my vivid imagination has dell employees beating up new speakers to make them refurbished for us. 🙂

I leave for a couple of days....
I ordered on Wednesday the 12th at 3:15.
Received the confirmation emails showing ship date of the 21st.
Just checked and mine still shows 'in production' (on refurbs?? how can that be? who cares at this price!)
CC still not showing a charge though...
As others have said-if it works GREAT! if not...

Mine is still in "production" and estimated ship date is still 12/21. No credit card charge though ...
