I totally agree, I just picked up the amp and two of the 12"s! $80 to the door, all I need is a box to put them in.

Car subs are designed to roll off about 10 db per octave below 60 hz due to the matching rising response curve of the small interior cars have. Your house is MUCH larger and the response curve rises at a MUCH lower point, so car subs tend to be all boom and no base when used in a house.
When I looked they had sub drivers for both $14.99 and "unique" ones missing all the wires etc with scratches etc. for $9.99. I am guessing people are buying a load of this stuff even if they don't have cars. I was lookin hard, and even had a couple items in my cart before I started thinking about what to do with them, and left (my Mustang already has a sound system, by Walker mufflers).

Not really fatal unless your married and start going to live auctions where people frequently don't bid much on pallet lots of weird old junk.
BTW I would be REAL curious to know if some lucky ATF gets a 100th customer freeby from this place.
Yeah, for no good reason whatsoever I bought a sub and amp. Which means I really kind of need to update my 4 factory speakers etc etc.

It came with all of the mounting and installation hardware including the power cable. I don't have the time or money to spend doing a separate amp-box-etc. install. I can hook this thing up directly to my existing system... it'll accept the speaker-level inputs, and then it has 4 (!!) 25-watt amps for 'satellite' speakers which is the same as what my headunit is sending to my back speakers now anyway. So it's all very easy.... the only problem will be routing the power and grounding cables. Oh well, I'll work it out somehow....

Lucky dude, I was looking at that, hopping to crutchfield etc., decided to buy and OOS.
OTOH now I can ask a few car guys questions and maybe more will show up. Only downside I saw was the power to the mains, 25 watts, with no effective way to step up later, ie easy, but no expansion. Still, you got that one by seconds....

I keep getting tracking numbers from these guys.. 4 so far.. I bought 8 subs total wonder if I will get 8 tracking numbers..
They had to looose money on me.. how much would it cost to ship 8 subs.. I only paid 9.99 each.. and no shipping I can see why they upped the price to 14.99 sweet deal..

HAHA....I think about half of the people that are buying these things are w/ ya on this one. I'm thinking of listing them in my college paper FS and maybe I make a little profit.
I just browesed thru their site to look at what other stuff they offer. Well, they sell A Sony DVD player, but ALL of them come without ANY accessories. Wtf?
No cables, no manual, I could live with that, but no remote control? Where the hell did they get those returns? Don't tell me that any retailer accepts an incomplete return and gives full credit....

edit- I just went back and bought a couple more woofs and another el1500.

They still have the 12" subs for $9.99, but you need to navigate to them via the LEFT frame menus.
The returns business is goofy, and yes places like Crutchfield are likely to accept returns in all sorts of conditions with missing parts etc. Also while the item MAY have been returned to the store moderately intact, between the store and this place lots of times bits get lost. Also when the returns get checked if some assessory looks flakey I bet it goes in the trash, less hassle.
I wish this place had some more stuff, other than the dozen car audio items the rest are nothing special at all. I could really relate to a set of the door speakers etc. No shipping and grand opening say through the 30th, so I may just keep checking.
Still waiting to hear if somebody hits the magic 100th and gets order free.

That's what I was thinking but I'm not really sure of the setup details.
It's been a long time since I messed around with a big setup. The last big system I had was in 1979. I paid 1300 for a state of the art cassette Alpine system.
