i saw it, i bought it. Not the best idea since I have no current job and will be a broke college student next year. Ignorance = bliss

Edit: do you think its possible to open up the extra pipes like my 6800NU?

I wonder if the extra pipe quad and texture unit are unlockable?
Chop chop guys, get to work!

a passively cooled version of this card would be leet. when ppl get this card let us know how noise level is.

i think i need to move to PCI-E 😱

this makes me even more glad i sold my 7800gt in the classifieds a week ago for $150.00 shipped , which i paid $140.00 for.
can't wait for the lowend next gen card, i think i will get one of those.

I've never had a problem with a new video card that wasn't apparent in the first week, so a 90 day warranty doesn't really scare me.

Mbesto, from specs I've been able to find so far, this card reminds me a bit of the 7800gt, so I'd say you should be able to bump up the details a bit from your 6600gt. 😉

Not necessarily... they obviously bought in bulk oem... there's no reason to think they are anything other than advance release or just released early or something

woot may be able to get around the normal retail release date bit since they don't sell in the tradition manner

I'm waiting for some new MBs to come out for the C2Ds. I'd like something that will be able to OC the E6400 to 3+Ghz. SLI was not a concern of mine until I saw this deal. Now I'm thinking about picking up 2 of these cards. But I can't use these yet because my current MB is AGP and I wasn't planning on upgrading to C2D until some good MBs came out. Also, doesn't ATI and Nvidia have something coming down the pipe. I remember the article on AT saying that price drops usually mean clearing out old hardware.

It took quite a while to move 4,000 of a popular product, considering how fast they can sell bags of crap. Makes me wonder how many they really had.

They only had 2000. Woot dont sell computer parts that need installation over $100 really fast. If it was usb hardrive it would have been gone at midnight.

According to a poster on Woot, someone who had a 7900gs from dell got the 4 pipes unlocked in rivatuner, but i haven't seen any proof of it yet. Hopefully when woot starts shipping and when these things go retail we'll get to see more info. If i see anything I'll post.

Who knows, maybe we'll all have just managed to buy the equivalent of 7900gt's for 150 a piece!

Actually, i bought two to put into SLI... assuming it is possible to unlock the extra pipes and maybe the vertex shader, how does that work. Do both need to be equally unlocked, or what exactly happens there to make that go vroom?

thought i'd share this gem from the woot discussion:

"BTW if you buy 3 of these and glue them together they work better!! and you need and agp mobo for it 2!!"

😛
