B and N are next to each other on the keyboard in case you haven't noticed.

Website doesn't load for me.

Timer controlled chargers damage the rechargeable batteries. I don't know if these batteries/charger will last long.

Use smart chargers which cost around $29-$60.

Costco has Energizer AccuCharger for $11.49 including 2 batteries. It also has a 3-pack resaleable for $33.xx. I haven't used those, so any comments are welcome.

NiMH + Batteries = Natteries?

Anyway, seems like a good deal regardless. How much is the shipping cost though?

Well, don't forget you have to buy more than $15 (so it said when I tried to check out).

I got a combo pack from Fry's 2 AA and charger from Energize for $6.99 1/2 yr ago, the charger look exactly like this one except the label, I think this company OEM for energize. It work pretty good althought it is not a fast charger.

I was at a "Big Lots" store a couple of days ago, and they had a name-brand (I think either Panasonic or Energizer or Rayovac or something) kit, with 2 D, 2 C, 4 AA, and 2 AAA batteries, and a charger, for like $17. The package said 1600 mAH, and they were NiMH batteries, not NiCd. The store was closing, and my friend was reading the package, so I asked him abot the charger, he said something about "quick charge", not sure if it's timer-based or feedback-based, but it was definately a name-brand kit, so I would expect it to be ok. I didn't get to read the back of the package myself. I hope this isn't considered a thread-crap, because it's not, I just thought that someone interested in battery deals would also like to know about this one. I saw them near the check-out, near batteries and other "impulse-buy" items.

Maybe someone can correct me here, but as I understand it, batteries charge because there is a voltage differential between the batteries and the charger supply. As the batteries charge their voltage rises and the differential drops. The closer the battery gets to full charge, the slower the charge. So even if using a timed charger, when the batteries are at (or close to) full charge there should be little or no current thru them IF the charger voltage is the same as that of charged batteries.

Does that make sense? Am I right? :Q

If the charger's ouput votage is higher than those of batteries, the charging process can be completed!!

about the Big Lots Panasonic charger (info copied from post at another forum):

1) "Auto-off feature automatically shuts off the charger with the indicator light switching off to indicate charging is complete."

2) "This charger is designed to work best with Panasonic Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries."

Information above comes from the manual.

This is a really good deal. I've been looking for these.

The only thing is that you have to purchase at least $15. So I did a search on ebay for the same model number and you can buy it for the same price there.
