Thefakeelcheapo- that's the exact thing i have the 5160, not the greatest phone in the world, but still ok, but i also got that service of 120 min anytime, then 500 for after 8 pm and on weekends, pretty good

TheFakeElCheapo:

Thanks for the info. I'm going for the Digital Advantage plan. It gives you 500 free weekend/night mins as well, so 750 mins total is good enough for me. My friend has one of those 8XXX phones and he's really happy with it. AT&T is good in Greensboro, NC as well.

(I only take ecount, no paypal, and wont take a lower offer!) email me at gmo415@yahoo.com if you want the GC! Serious buyer only please!

i have a nokia 5100 series phone with at&t one rate service (450 minutes, $59.99). Is it possible to buy one of these phones for cheap and have my current service/number be put on it? It says here if i just want to buy the phone, ill have to pay $199 for it. 🙁

you can still use the $50 off coupon and get it from amazon for $150. Then send in the $30 rebate from nokia to get your cost down to $120.

I just got mine a week or so ago. 8260 through the amazon deal. Reception seems to be good in some places, bad in others. My office is in a basement and the reception isn't great, but is fine in my basement at home. It sure is small and light. Very impressive little phone.

If you don't mind PacBell, try talking to a rep in a Best Buy. I got a new rate plan from them that was $40 for 300 anytime minutes, free long distance, and unlimited nights and weekends (it was called a Home something-or-other plan). I'm in the LA area, so I don't know if this is a regional thing or not.

I've had my 8260 for two weeks now. My Amazon online order status still says "Items Not Yet Shipped: Shipping in 1-2 weeks."

I wonder if I hit the "Cancel" button would I make it all disappear?

Nah, I'm not that evil.

Seems like the only way to get decent coverage in the Southern California area is to go with AT&T or PacBell. I don't know if this applies to just the LA metro area or does it apply to Orange County as well, anyone have any clue? Also, if I want a plan that will allow some flexibility in terms of long distance calls and roaming (I mostly stay in the Socal area but once in awhile I travel to the east coast) should I not even bother considering PacBell as all their coverage is strictly the western region of the U.S.? Thanks for any advice.
