abt the number of bars thingy. i know for a fact that certain phones from certain providers would never ever ever go below a certain number of bars ...

yeah i know i'm vague but my company makes one of those phones 😛

Guess it depends on who you listen to.

I have heard that SPRINT sucks BIG time in S. Calif.. And that AT&T and
Verizon are the ONLY way to go.

I will read about the reception on this phone.. that concerns me.

so there's like no way i could get this phone and it wouldn't count the AT&T service that i pay for now, that would be awesome to get this for 20 bucks and keep my service

I got a call from at&t wireless today. offering me the following plan.

price $49.99

600 anytime minutes
1000 evening and weekend minutes.

With verizon the same plan is $39.99 BUT the 1000 minutes are weekends only.
in my opinion the extra 10 bucks is worth it for being able to use those minutes in the evening.

This was in the seattle area. I got the number to call I will post it later.

AT&T policy is that existing customers can upgrade or change plans at anytime. even for promos.

I will post the nubmer later.

i will try to see if i can activate new account and keep my service while gettin the phone for this price, will get back to you

Hey Kidviciou$,

Howz it goin man?

The item has to be something in the cellular department

I have the phone (gray) and ATT and the clairity is great in S. Idaho. The text messaging is great! The phone is great with wonderful battery life and I have had no complaints with the calling plan. It worked for me!

can't just be cheapest item on the site. it has to be from the wireless section to apply the $50 off $100 coupon.

is it worth it to go for a 8260 now or is nokia coming out with a better one pretty soon ? i'd love the 8890 but that's way pricier then this one. i'd also rather have a GSM phone so i could use my SIM card, doh

oh well, can't beat this for a 8*** series phone i suppose =/ was thinking sprint and a sch-8500 (discounted from a friend that works at a cellshop) but i don't think we have service up here in norcal

If you want to get good coverage in the LA area only ATT and Pacbell have good coverage. I have never heard of any Sprint customers that claim good service in the LA area(especially the West L.A. area)

Just a word of caution before you purchase a Sprint phone.

i used sprint over at ucla quite a bit and it provided much better coverage then AT&T or PacBell, ESPECIALLY pacbell. i'd always get system busy, etc.

Actually the phone in the matrix was a Nokia 8110, which is an obsolute model in Europe now and never sold in US. The new Nokia will be the 7100 series, much much cooler...

Offer Rules and Requirements

4. Offer not available with any other Nokia rebates, offers or promotions.

(on the $30 rebate)

damn, got this when it first came out from buy.com. $120 for the phone + car adapter + free headphones ($30 coupon.. $25 headphones for my nomad) - $50 MIR.

It's for my mom, and so far, I found it to be pretty nice. Don't have a problem w/ reception.. except in giant and price club 🙁

One strange thing is.. in my friends house.. i get perfect receptiong, in the calling area (he's 3 min's from my house)... and i walk into his basement... ROAM. dunno.

But I have to say, maybe causes its digital, it was a hell of a lot better than our old cellone plan

Just got my new 8260 phone on Friday morning. All I can say is that I love it and there haven't been any problems with the reception of it. I had the 6260 before this one and this phone has as good as reception if not better. In my house the old phone used to break up where this one doesn't. I already had a contract but got it for 150.00 plus they threw in the free nokia leather case. I got it for the smaller size and cool looks. Also, next month we will be able to send text messages and e-mail to and from this phone. (Service is not availiable here yet). Anyway I just thought that I would put my 2 cents in.

Those two rebates are definitely combinable. Two different companies.

Also, early on someone mentioned they didn't like the AT&T Regional Advantage plan because they only offer 120 minutes and no night and weekend minutes. Well, I just signed up for that plan (I got a Nokia 5160 for $1.00, plus the $105 in rebates.) and a few days after receiving my phone I got a call from AT&T to verify my account details. She called on my cell phone so she gave me 30 free anytime minutes to reimburse me. Also, she gave me 500 night and weekend minutes for free for a whole year! I was very pleased with that call. I don't know if they offer this in every region but it might be worth asking for.
