It's good lookin! No antenna! Small as heck! Great time to upgrade your current phone!

Amazon.com has a $50 off $100 coupon in the cellphone department.
Sign up with ATT and get a $30 rebate.

Nokia 8260 = $99.99 - 50 - 30 = $19.99

You need to find something that will bring the total up to $100 to use the coupon.

A Blue Nokia 8260 @ Amazon
Rebate
$50 Coupon @ Techbargains or Fatwallet

EDIT
Holy crap! If you sign up with ATT and choose a plan that cost 29.99 or more you get an additional $75.00 rebate!!!!

Nokia 8260 (with 29.99+ plan) = $99.99 - 50 - 30 - 75 = pay you 55.01!!!!

Rebate 2

I'm not so sure this is actually that great of a deal. You have to sign a one year contract and you get very few minutes in most of their plans. no long distance either unless you pay for the super expensive digital one rate plans. don't get me wrong, I think AT&T wireless has the best service in my area (atlanta) by far....it's just that they are so expensive.

i'd love to go for this offer, but i can't stand AT&T's plans. i need a long distance plan w/ lots of night/weekend minutes since i'm in college and it just doesn't work out. only their regional plans include free long distance and roaming, but no weekend minutes, and only 120 minutes for the $30 range. their other plan is 150 minutes and 500 weekend minutes i believe, but that's no long distance, and most others (PacBell, Sprint) provide 1,000+ minutes.

anyone know how good Verizon would be? I'm looking for a phone in the 8*** series and i really love this one (the 8890 is just not affordable) , but the plans suck. Sprint's plans simply rock and their coverage is awesome, but i don't like thier phones too much, although the SCH-8500 is nothing to frown upon =P

Yes, but it is gonna cost you $199.99 - 50 = $149.99, and you must be an existing ATT customer.

I just bought the 8260 phone with ATT service and think the clarity is outstanding. I live in Southern CA...

are u required to get the plan? or can u get the phone for 50 bucks now and just sign up for a service later?

im assuming that the 199 price is only for existing customers, and the 99 is for new customers.

FYI, I live in the Los Angeles area and so far EVERY ONE of my friends who was with AT&T has switched to Sprint b/c of AT&T's HORRIBLE service in the metro area and poor voice quality. I have yet to hear ANYTHING good about AT&T, at least in LA.

Might want to go brush up on the newsgroups (alt.cellular, alt.cellular.nokia) regarding this phone. Two things that I remember are 1) lousy reception, and 2) Nokias infamous clicking noise, which turns out to be even more pronounce in the 8260/8290. Tons of negative posts.

Couple that with an service provider (ATT) who isn't so hot (www.eopinions.com, www.ecomplaints.com).

Oh, and yeah, and it's a chick's phone. :) Go get a Motorola 3682 (Vader) series.

Sweet deal? Your mileage may vary. Personally, I would pass.

As far as phone plans go, AT&T right now is offering a holiday promotion where you can get an additional 500 free night and weekend minutes with a 29.99 and 39.99 plan, and 1000 free night/weekend minutes with a $49.99 plan and up.

I just got this phone, and as far as reception and clarity it's BETTER than my 6185. There were buildings on campus that I couldn't even pick up a signal in with my 6185 that I get full four bars with the 8260. I think it just depends on where you live and how good the signals are. I agree, Sprint has better calling plans but my experience is that I'm on hold twice as long with sprint CS than with AT&T so far. I still have both phones (my sister pays for and uses my sprint account) so if I ever travel I can still take the sprint phone with me and make use of its larger network. But since I only go anywhere but once or twice a year the AT&T plan suits my needs perfectly.
