I got Seagate 80GB , 7200 RMP , 8 MB cache ( probably ) hard drive for 70 dollars after 50 dollars MIR. Seems better deal than this .

Wrong, there are Cuda Vs that are regular IDE. It seems to me that the Serial ATAs have yet to become popular in a lot of stores.Originally posted by: deepinya

The Barracuda 5 is serial ATA and I am willing to bet he didnt get it for 70 bux.
He got a standard Barracude IV with 2MB cache.

Hmm, the link to the best buy drive is a bit amgibuous I will admit but go to Storage Review and you will see that it is only the SATA version of the Cuda V that has the 8 meg buffer and the IDE version has 2 MB. The drive in the BB link could either be a V or a IV. There are ATA versions of this drive out: dell.com is selling them and also the review at storagereview.comOriginally posted by: deepinya

Where in that link does it say Barracuda V? That link shows a 7200RPM, ATA 100, 2MB cache drive....which is a IV.
You can either get 8mb SATA (V) or 2mb IDE (IV)....I dont think there is an 8mb IDE version in V series.
Cuda IV spex on Seagates site
Cuda V spex on Seagates site
