says it is using DataLifeguard Tools..that is WD

Still shows in stock at my local CC. May have to head over there after work and pick one up if they have it.

I have a question tho. My PC is old. Gateway Pent II, 400 MHz, Windows 98 (that's regular 98, not 98SE). I have a 30 GB HDD in there now. I've never been sure how much bigger my machine can support. Anyone know?

I know this question would normally go in one of the other forums, but since we are talking about this particular HD and I want one ..... any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking at the .pdf document that was posted earlier and it's the three cash register generated rebate slips, each for $40. All three have different program numbers and are indeed mailed to different P.O. boxes. But given that the Circuit City website now shows just two rebates, a manufacturer one for $50 and a CC one for $20, I don't see how you're gonna get this for $20. Anyone who got in on this with the three $40 rebates congrats. And anyone who can get a store clerk or manager to take $40 off at purchase, my hat's off to you! Still, $59 plus tax isn't all that bad...

Went to pick mine up today (got my In Store Pickup order in before they took that option off the website) but only 2 rebates printed out. Rebate number YB273 was missing. :(

They looked into their computer and couldn't find a mention of it anyware. I also looked at the list of rebates on the CC site and could not find it.

Does anyone have a copy of YB273 that they could post? I know there is a copy linked in a message above but, I'm looking for a blank, generic if you will, copy without anyone else's information on it.

BTW: It is a WD drive and it has a 3 year warranty (according to this WD site).

Damn I wish I had known about this earlier. The CC by my work has them in stock so I wanna go pick them up but if it's only 2 rebates it's not worth it. Might go and check in a little bit though

For us that go the three rebates, what would stop us from using the 3 rebates PLUS using the $50 manufacturers rebate and essentially getting it for free? :) Cause the 3 rebates are for Circuit City

Ok, so the question is... WHICH rebates do you get if you buy the RED boxes (circuit city branded) if you buy them today.

CC accepted the Staples Cust App 12%....along with two rebates for $40 each....almost as good...
I was told one time when we were going to return and rebuy, just to change the name, that I could white out the information and submit...

so now the mathcop is a grammarcop? hehe

since they are reportedly pulling one of the 40's, i dont know what reb's you'd get today with the red box. i got 3x$40 yesterday (11/14-12/14 y9980, 12/10-12/24 yb273, 12/10-12/24 yb270). All of these 3 are paid by CC, and not WD.

the "extra" $20 that ppl are hoping for will not work since they are for the WD blue box.

LOL... that's what I was thinking ---^

for the people trying to find the product on circuitcity.com -- search for HD1200JR... NOT "western dig 120" or any derivation of WD. WD is not in the product title and not in the description.

Well, during the confusion I ordered a Western Digital 120 instead of the CC 120. When I went to pick it up, I cancelled the online-order and placed an order for the CC branded 120 because it was OOS. I will bring in a copy of the 3 rebates when I go pick it up because I ordered within the date range of all 3. Either they give me the 3 rebates or a proce adjustment...

So if you missed out on this it looks like OMAX will vane a WD branded 120 GB drive on sale next week for $129.99 -$20 IR -$20 OM MIR - $30 WD MIR bringing to to $59.99. And if you can add enough other items to get over $150 you could use a $30 off $150 coupon that can be found elsewhere, so effectively for $30 plus applicable taxes. I'm heading out to a CC to check on the rebadged drive now. Apparently WD has reduced the warranty on theur drives to one year, so it doesn't really matter to me if it's rebadged or not. Plus I'd rather risk getting the rebates from CC. So I'm including a link to the drive at Circuit City and you can check their stock locally.Circuit City 120 GB HD
