The solder which holds the IHS and the Die together has a melting temp of ~73C. You really dont want to keep making that solder change phases from solid to liquid to solid to liquid.

Do you get what i mean? This is why we always say keep it under 70C. Its much healthier on the chip that way.

Yeah but when the solder that holds the IHS in place does start to fail, you can just remove it and get even higher overclocks ;) I've got proof that you can overclock better without an IHS, it's in my sig.

OP: What is the red thing that holds cables to the case in the picture? I don't know how far your build is into, but your cabling job is absolutely admirable.

What pic are you talking about? also the antec P182 makes me look good, its absolutely amazing for cable routing.
