Horizon sold 7.6 million copies in its first year. By the end of year 2, it had sold "well over 10 million copies," meaning that it sold millions of copies after 8 months. Millions. Let that sink in.

Does that include Frozen Wilds sales? That actually would be pretty good hit rate.

Is it in Development? If so, I'm off To Google. Man, imagine raytracing wit this? Just rerelease the original with ray tracing! Take my money!
It hasn't been confirmed as far as I know but the developers did say they want to continue the story.

So I finished Frozen Wilds... strangely there is no ending. You just aren't given another side quest after killing all the Demonic Fireclaws.

Frozen Wilds is just a DLC area that gives you more history on what happened - it was never an expansion. The ending has always been the same.

What I mean is that there's no acknowledgement that the Demonic Fireclaws quest is the end of the DLC's storyline I guess.

Ah, so the PC version reviews are out, and apparently it's a bad port. Buggy as hell with frame pacing issues even with a 2080 Ti.

uh oh, that's not good. also, I heard that Sony added that garbage Denuvo DRM to it so that might hurt performance

EDIT: Still unavailable here until 11:00--so we'll see what the Steam reviews look like

Was a fun game when I played it on PS4. Never finished it to be honest. Story just didn't grab me so I think I kept on going because the gameplay was cool and I didn't have anything else to play.

I've only played a little on my 3970x/2080Ti setup, but this thing runs like hot trash. Very unfortunate as I loved it on the PS4 and wanted to revisit it with superior hardware, but it really was not optimized at all. Stuttering and screen clicker with framerates in the 40's @ 4k is pretty pathetic. I think the reviews were a little too forgiving of the technical shortcomings of this port.

Maybe try closing Chrome? Do you have 32 GB?

I only had Chrome open to post the image. I have 64GB actually and the full specs are in my signature.

I also tried this on my 10700k/2080 Super HTPC setup @4k and it's garbage there too. That system is a new build and only has a few new games on it.

Wow, the graphics are glitchy as hell. My laptops 1660 Gtx Ti is spewing artifacts all over the place. Gonna try it on my main rig that has a 1080 GTX.

Why oh why do people STILL play a game on day one (or even the first week) and then go online to complain? I can't recall a single port that wasn't garbage on launch. I can't recall a single AAA title that didn't have major issues during launch week. It's very rare that a game will release and be flawless on day one.

By now everyone should just expect this to be the norm. Game breaking bugs, glitches, and heavy performance issues have become standard on day-one releases, yet people are still flabbergasted when they fire up a game on day one and it's not perfect. Not to mention this game isn't a new IP, it was designed for consoles, and all the new fluff (graphics) are specific to the PC version and yet... people are surprised.

I just don't get it. End rant.

I think since Death Stranding was in good shape at release, people were expecting it to the same with HZD since the two share the same engine. Aparently DS uses an updated version so it may not be completely comparable.

If that's the case they should have just pushed off the release; especially when new GPU's are on the... HORIZON.

yea, i went there

Now that I think about it, Sony probably wanted it released now. Give 'em a week or two and I bet they will fix the stutter, but I wouldn't expect any miracles on the frame rate beyond that.

Oh why do idiots care about other peoples woes, and complain about a complaint, oh why?

Purchased months ago and wanted to see how it performed on launch day. I gave my impressions if anyone was on the fence about buying it.

Not sure why you felt the need to go out of the way to complain about feedback, positive or negative. Over the last 20 years of being on this forum I tend to look at the critiques of the fellow members over professional reviews. I thought we all shared that similar interest in feedback.

I mean the game has trouble staying above 30 fps at 1080p on a GTX 1060 6GB with minimal tweaks from console settings according to Digital Foundry. If they can't fix that frame rate the game should be considered completely broken. It's not like this is Crysis in 2007, it's a PS4 game from early 2017.

Seems to run better on this guy's machine, getting like 50 fps on medium albeit with a 8700K. The stutter seems pretty common however.

Pretty much every AAA game I have ever played has not had a major issue at launch. The latest ones I can think of are The Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima.
