Because it is more comfortable and loose clothing just catches on things including the wind. Plus bike clothing breathes better and wicks moisture away from your skin. It also dries out quickly when you stop.

I understand wanting proper attire for cycling, I just don't get the shirts with the sponsors and such. What you said can more or less apply to most sports/exercise. I see joggers all the time in running attire, but they don't dress like they're running in the Olympics with shirts that represent their country and a number on their back, that's all I'm getting at.

typical bicyclist mentality.

he's running out of memory on his phone while recording. LOL.
why couldn't they just get off the road and let him pass? both sides are at fault.
These guys (on bikes) were doing nothing wrong, but the ass in the SUV was, he was not being impeded, he wanted to be the victim, and now with the help of the citation, he got his wish.

The bike riders that piss me off are the ones that pass on the right at a red light, so you have to get around the jerk again in the next block.

I've even had these idiots run a stop sign, and yell at me for having the right of way.

Well, some of these guys may actually race professionally. I'm sure there are some who don't and just like the way those jerseys look or they just want to support a team they like.

I used to work with a guy who raced at the cat 1/cat 2 level. He rode with the Swamis club here in San Diego and did some of the local races with them too so he always wore the blue Swamis kit. I've gone on rides down the coast with friends and hopped on the wheel of some of these teams as they train, usually it is 3-4 guys or maybe a couple more. It is very common to see professional cyclists training around here.

I have a couple jerseys from rides I've done. One of them is from the Amtrak century ride. I really like the graphics of the jersey which is one of the reasons I bought it. It looks pretty cool, with a Salvador Dali theme. The prior year's jersey looked like ass so I didn't buy it that year.

I also have some plain jerseys that I wear. The more expensive kit jerseys are usually better made and more comfortable. Plus bike shirts have pockets for putting keys, cell phone, ID, gel shots etc. The clothing is actually very functional.

Single cyclists don't bother me. Even though they ignore stop signs and right of way.
Amish cyclists don't bother me. They are the most courteous riders around.
Pack cyclists (more than 5) can blow me. They can not be passed except in extremely long straightaways and piss me off to no end.

time to license and register them and require a vehicle plate displayed. They could then be cited for the endless vehicle traffic violations most engage in. Bikes are vehicles.

The same reason you'll see guys wearing a Kobe or Lebron jersey at the YMCA or local park playing basketball.

The problem is cyclers think their so fucking cool and modern and progressive and so god damn self righteous that I hate them even more than the cocksucking SUV drivers running everybody over.

Get off the road? HE HAS EVERY LEGAL RIGHT TO RIDE HIS BIKE ON SAID ROAD! they both were as close as possible to the edge, there was ample room to pass, SUV driver=total asshole plain and simple..

this. Drivers should leave sooner if their in too big a hurry to slow down, yield or wait to go around any bicyclist or ped.

worst i've seen was a truck get up right dead behind a person in an electric wheelchair and hold down on the horn..that impatient? really:rolleyes:

srs? electric cars pay no road tax. i am willing to bet most people riding their bikes do both of those things. should your 6yo riding his bike also pay? cant have those free loading kids wearing out your roads without paying for it!

personally, i use thousands of gallons of fuel a year and have a CDL.

some places do have bike registration, mainly to help in theft cases.

Kids do not ride their bike for 20 miles down country roads and clog up two lane roads.

Electric might not pay them in your state, but some places do, or at least personal property taxes.

Why not make them put tags on the bike, and have the brakes and reflectors checked once a year. I have to have an inspection on my motorcycle why not them?

It's a place states could make a little more revenue.

who has a strobe? I have never seen a flashing headlight outside of motorcycles. tail lights on the other hand, are often flashing red.

You think a random driver on the road has nothing better to do unprovoked? Or do you think those idiots did something to deserve the attention they got?

probably not these two guys. I work in boulder dealing with packs of bikers on a daily basis is just a fact of life around here. hell half of our developers have 1500.00 road bikes in their cubes and go on 20 mile training rides for lunch.

its possible that the driver had a run-in with some bikers not too long ago and was taking his frustrations out on the two bikers in the video.

Let go of your hate bro. You're way over-thinking this. Most of us just ride to stay fit and/or to clear our minds. If you really think we think all that you're nuts. :p

Only a few states have motorcycle inspection and it totally screws up our property rights. Thank God GA doesn't have that crap. They don't consider or account for thinks like track bikes or parts bikes, which often have no blinkers and stuff for their very reason to exist. They require DOT lenses on everything, stock reflectors, and you can't even have an aftermarket exhaust. Not having some stupid stock piece or accessory drastically affects resale value in those states because it affects registerability for some stupid plastic bit no one wants.

Look up "headlight modulator." They are very common safety modifications on motorcycles.

Not to generalize, but generally the majority of SUVs are driven by assholes and dimwits.

Had this happen to me yesterday on my way to work. This asshole in a small pick-up truck passed real close to me then honk its horn. I immediately scream expletives and flipped the pick-up truck off.

Not to generalize but.... *roll eyes*
