My Fiancee and I are actually sitting down and starting to look up places where we would like to spend our Honeymoon... We've picked out a few places that we were thinking of and they are listed in the poll. We have ruled out Hawaii as an option as neither of us are interested in going there.

So if you have any advice, or have been to any cool locations and can let us know about it that would be really helpful to us. Or, if you can suggest any place that might be a good location that we may be overlooking post up so we can look into that!

Thanks everyone!

Secrets Excellence, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Awesome bang for the buck, and an all around amazing experience.

Saint Martin. It's awesome there. Definitley better than Mexico and Florida. Haven't been to the rest. Just please don't go to Mexico. There are much better places. The place is much overrated, just like Hawaii (the main island anyway).

Well... this is the largest online community that I participate in... and chances are a lot of people have travelled to a few different locations that can maybe help me choose/avoid a certain country...

But thanks for your helpful reply.

My fiancee and I are going to Bermuda for our honeymoon. We've never been there and thought it could be fun.

My fiancé and I are going to go to Ireland or the Mediterranean. We still have plenty of time to make a decision.

I never understood why people spend alot of money on a honeymoon. I don't plan on leaving the bedroom.

went did a 7 day royal caribbean cruise that stopped in aruba, curacao, st martin and st thomas.

it was awesome.

after 10 months of planning and organizing it was great to not have to worry about anything and have everything else taken care of. meals are all set and included, not to mention free room service 24/7, buffets, there's always some activity going on, there are cool excursions on the islands, bars and clubs and casino at night, shows, pools, spa, rock climbing wall, gym, track.

You are asking on ATOT? WTF is wrong with you? There are only like 8 people here who have actualy been on a honeymoon, and only 12 that have seen a naked woman IRL.

All those choices are for pussies. Ugly guady trump esque hotels built within three feet of what was once a beautful beach is about as exotic eating apple pie after a baseball game.

Yeah, that's what we were kind of leaning towards, but everyone has told us that cruises are bad (Sea sickness, etc) so that's why we started looking up some islands...

Were alcoholic drinks included in the "all inclusive" type deal as well, or did you have to pay extra for those?

Would be really nice... but we live so close to Niagara, that we go there for a day trip a few times a summer... We want to go somewhere we have never been before and somewhere exotic...

We don't need to worry about it being warm, since we're getting married June 10th... so it will be hot here as well... So it's just that we want to go explore someplace new... :)

We chose Cape Town - a lovely place and part of an amazing country. We stayed at the V & A Hotel on the Waterfront and hired a car so we could drive round the cape and go to the Winelands as well. Very good value for money as well once you've paid for the flights.

Caribbean Island or a cruise. Besides the climate, you'll want to consider the type of environment you want around you... do you mind being stuck on the grounds of some hotel chain, because once you venture off their property, you're in a slum? (several of the islands, from what I understand). Do you want a lot of shops and people around you? Or do you want something more remote and quiet?

For what it's worth, google some information on St. John. IIRC, you'd fly to St Thomas and then boat to St John. I've always wanted to go there (but haven't yet.)

Lola

i am all for a cruise.
I find that there is a great mix of alone time, plus, time to explore the caribbean.
I cannot say enough and enough GOOD things about a cruise. There are a lot of cruise lines and many choices with cabins, ships, destinations, etc.

I have done hours and hours of research and know a lot about finding the best deal and best cruise that would fit you.

Just my opinion. It is hard to choose one island to visit based on pics on the web so a cruise, you can visit a few and then choose to visit them via a land based vacay later on.

FLA is nice, but when i think of honeymoon, i want to splurge as much as we can afford.
Our cruise photos are all over the place, but take a look at them to see if its something you would like.

The newest pics are from last month, on a smaller (but newer) ship, the second set, are on the same size ship, the third set (towards the end of the gallery) are on a rather large ship.
We have done both eastern and western caribbean so there are pics of both.

Good luck. If this is something you are interstd in, i would love to help!
