I just read an article that claims this. The "lies" can be little white lies like when you tell a child something to make it easier for him/her to understand or when you tell a fib to avoid hurting someone's feelings.

Do you think you average 4 lies a day? more or less?
 
Most definitely. "Sir, this is an excellent resume, and you possess a superior skillset compared to our other candidates. Honestly, I think you are a bit overqualified for this position." Say that four or more times a day, and I might be telling the truth once, if that.

What do you consider the grey matter between truth and a lie? If you consider it a lie then yes, 4x a day is easily reached. We work in jobs that require us to constantly cover our asses and look awesome. White lies are the norm, masking the complete truth is par for the course. The people that don't have to CYA as much as others are the real heros of our time, but no one is perfect.

But hey, if you consider the grey matter to be truthful until it crosses that final line of a lie then you are in the clear. Rarely do we tell a bold lie. And if the grey matter is it's own category then you can consider it anything you want; whatever makes your day less stressful.

I think most people lie more then they realize....Subtle little things like:
"Hey how are you today?"
"I'm great"
Its just something to move converstation on instead of going into some lengthy converstation.

i think when you talk about ATOT, you need to multiply that number by at least 3.

also you probably need to divide any numbers given, such as salary or number of sexual partners, by 2 or more. when they say they have a super model girlfriend, they actual mean a model (as in the kind you put together or blow up with air).
