Ok I know everyone knows to use a condom when they have sex with somone they dont know very well...say the third of forth date or the beginning of a relationship. They teach in school that you should also use a condom when having oral sex. I was just wondering how many people actually do this? I dont know anyone that does. Of course if yoru in a relationship and and youve been with a girl for a while that might be diffrent..I am talking new girl...first second third fourth fifth date, or the beginning of the relationship.

just a wondering. I am sure I will get some funny/rude/strange responses.

the only thing to be afraid of oral sex is the herpes. I think, and usually, you can tell if she's breaking out or not.

G-warts is also an issue with oral. I'm sure there are other nasty little things available with that activity as well.

1. Latex does not taste good.
2. Condom already messes up the sensation - a bj would be pointless at that point.

If you have a concern of getting an STD from oral, then you should just get a hand job instead.

Agreed. I believe you can still get syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, etc. . . .From oral. (You can get genital herpes if someone that's giving you h34d has a cold sore. (Actually just had this convo the other day with a health care professional.)

What's wrong with a hj by the 3rd or 4th date? You're already expecting sex? Expecting is the key word here.

If you respect her and she respects you, you'll appreciate the pace you're both going at and understand 'what happens next'.

Call me a prude but I don't want herpes, chlamydia, or HIV among other STDs.

I'm all for safe sex - but condoms and BJs don't mix, from either end. Loss of sensation for the receiver, and latex in the giver's mouth

LOL. But seriously, doesn't dental dam completely defeat the whole purpose of giving oral sex to a woman?
It didn't defeat the purpose when it was used on me.

I don't understand the hesitation in using devices like this. What's wrong with making sex fun and safe?

That's how I feel. Like I just said, I was talking to someone about this the other day. I was engaged, so obviously in a monogamous relationship and didn't have to worry about any of that crap. Now that I'm single again, I'm completely scared. I'm not irrational, but I'm not trusting ANYONE but myself until I'm in a serious relationship again. I carry my own condoms, etc.

If she's wanting it badly enough and you don't know each other that well? Dental dam is better than nothing at all.

While safe, it doesn't seem like it would be much fun. :p

Hey, no prob. The title is "Honest question". That was/is my honest answer. Hands/latex/etc can be nice and sexy in the beginnings of a relationship. It's just that with the crazy way things are now and just being single again. . .frightening!

to be quite honest, i'd rather have nothing at all. i'd rather wait to know her better than to deal with that. plus, it'd make her want it more and guarantee another date.
