Interesting idea.... I love me a good list/task program.

I use RTM right now and love it. I can use it anywhere/anyhow. At RTM.com, from a Bookmarklet, inside gmail/iCal, from my igoogle homepage, in an email, from my dashboard, or on my phone.

That article you posted pretty much says RTM has a steep learning curve. I don't think that means it sucks. Once you get over the curve, you're over the curve.

But by all means, if you want to make an easier to use system that is as "invisible" as RTM... I say go for it!

Nice, I emailed a thingy to you before I set up my account. Then when I did create my account (with a different email address) you already had the list item and my other email. Nice! How did that work out? Just by my IP address?

Oh, but now my original item isn't there. - Oh i see what happened, I think I managed to create two accounts 😛 Oh look, you have a merge accounts! Good time to try that out...

Seems to have worked! Nice work.

I don't like the layout of the first page.

When you go in, you want to see your tasks/add a task.

But the first screen you show is a list of lists. That's an extra click to get to where I want to go.

Hmmm.... OK🙂 I'll work on that 🙂 Maybe make the page show both your lists on the left and the list items on the right?

That might work. Have you considered re-thinking how lists work altogether? The whole application is a "To-Do List", having further lists can risk overcomplicating things. An alternative that could achieve the same functionality is simple labels/tags. All items are in one giant "list" and then by filtering on label/tags it achieves the same thing as a "list".

We thought about that but there were two negatives. First, we want this to replace people who use paper to keep lists. So not only do we want to keep it simple, but we want to keep it traditional. If you have to think about it, it's too complex. Not everyone understands "tagging". Second, not all lists are todo list. For instance, my favorite bands is a list, but it isn't things I need to do. "Bands I need to see" is a todo list, but may not be a list of my favorite bands.

I agree the interface needs to be made better. Perhaps we could list items and the "list" that they are in in one interface for people who want to manage things like that. At that point, the lists become tags, but each list only has one tag at that point.

Go to website
Submit list item
Close tab
Ctrl-Shift-T
Confirm Form Resubmission

This web page requires data that you entered earlier in order to be properly displayed. You can send this data again, but by doing so you will repeat any action this page previously performed. Press Reload to resend that data and display this page.

That would be great. Just as "tagging" adds complexity (to n00bs 😛), having to wade back and forth through different lists slows me down. Even if it's just an extra click.

The bottom text is hard for me to read, you might want to slightly darken it (Yes, im using an LCD with the darkest setting being "GAH, my eyes", but still, most people don't even turn down the brightness for their monitors.)

Layout is fine, but I just can see myself using a website like this. IDK, someone probably will.

As well, hitting enter puts up a new example. That's annoying, the example should cleared after the first entry (I am using noscript, I have to manually clear it each time.).

Other things that might be nice.

If you put in "Finish test by monday", it should put some sort of due date on a task. It would also be nice to have tasks ordered by when they should be finished (if possible) and tasks that have no deadline should be last.
