Honest opinion on this site?

Hi all,

I've been working on a project that's no where near done, but it's far enough along that I can demonstrate it.

The site is: http://www.yiglet.com

Just looking for advice, comments, and if anyone thinks it's useful. For what it's worth, email integration, iphone, mobile, blackberry, etc. is coming next week once the other developers finish their work, and more advanced features like sharing, assigning, and auto-interpretation of messages (IE: "go to the gym 3 times per week") is coming soon.

It's...interesting? I mean, I don't see why you would need one of these, especially on a phone since there are calenders and notepads.
Then again there probably wasn't need for another wallpaper site, but I always wanted my own. 😀

Mainly because the one thing all of those programs lack is sharing of the lists between all of your devices.

I kind of like that. The site is very snappy because it's so basic. I like the idea of the site. It's a bit quicker adding to that list rather than using Google Calendar.

Thanks sasiki! If you have any ideas, let me know. Our goal is to make it really simple, and even quicker than google calendar, but also allow people to get their lists emailed to them, email in list items, access from blackberry application, iphone application, mobile web, etc.

I like simple too - I just don't like ugly image backgrounds, weird Times New Roman headings, images from Windows 3.11 and multi coloured word clouds.

Did you even login? The things you describe are only on the home page - the logged in portion is actually pretty clean.

I can't do much about the "times new roman headings", but I am interested in replacing the trash icon and green arrow icons with something a bit more modern. Also, what don't you like about the background? What would you change it to? A solid color?

Yes, a solid colour. Find me a decent looking website with a repeating background image. They don't exist.

I logged in using a 10 minute email address - slightly better, but still ugly as shit.

It looks like my Geocities page from 1995.

No, because then it would have silly ads plastered on it along with an UNDER CONSTRUCTION gif.

Get rid of the bone background, it made me think back to the business card scene in American Psycho. Go with pure white or orange or something.
