there is no doubt in my mind, after sitting and playing with the Fit, that the Yaris, SUCKS. i did not play with the Yaris as much as i did the fit, but this was because after sitting in the fit, and then moving to the Yaris, the Yaris' interior is 1/2 that of the Fit. the Fit has a better finish, better more attractive look, and just feels more modern. The yaris has a very very cheap feel, knobs are able to be squished together, wobble on their axis, etc. The Fit has a better interior, better ammenities, more safety standard.

anyways, if you are looking for a 13k vehicle, the Fit is a million times nicer than the yaris.

i sat in a 13k Fit, and a 14k Yaris, and 12k Yaris (2dr hatch). and i see NO reason to consider the Yaris.

"Duh"? The Fit is a warmed over European vehicle (Honda Jazz) which has been in production for years. It's had plenty of chances to work out bugs, adapt to the desires of drivers, etc. It's not really "brand new" like the Yaris.

I've never been in a Yaris ... do they have that ass-poor center-mounted instrument display from the Echo?

Oh, and <fanboy> Honda > Toyota </fanboy> :D

Yah, reviews I've read said the Fit is a good car, but I thought the Fit was very expensive (relative to the other econo boxes)?

Also, if people can add power mods to the Fit, I'd bet that it will be very popular with the rice rocket crowd. A small and light car with added HP!

Ugh. That alone is enough to discount the Yaris. Whoever greenlighted that idiotic "turn your head to get basic info on your vehicle" panel should be taken out and run over with one so equipped. :p

The Yaris 2-door might be cute enough to be an extra from Finding Nemo (especially in blue) ... but damned if that console doesn't just ruin it. :p

once you sit in the Yaris, and then sit in the Fit, if you purchase the yaris, you are a moron.

yes... the Fit is indeed a MUCH better car than the Yaris.

Edmunds did a review of the two (seperately), and commented that the Fit is lightyears ahead of the Yaris.

i think the yaris is a couple hundred cheaper when you add in options and is 200 lbs lighter. (hatch compared to hatch)

But I'd definately buy the fit because of the extra room, but I'd rather pay an extra 500 or whatever if they put in the civic engine instead of the 109 hp one they have in there now.

Fit is pretty ugly. Can't imagine anyone wanting to drive around in that. Yaris wins in the style department.

FYI, the Yaris = Echo. IIRC, the US was the only place it was called the Echo, elsewhere they were the Yaris.

I swear, when I went to Aruba a few years ago, one out of every three cars was a Yaris.

When I'm on the inside and feel the great moves of the car, why would I want the slightly better looking car that has worse handling and is not as fun to drive?

People buy Subarus because of something, not that they are the hottest cars ever.

forgot that! K-series powered Fit FTW !!! :)

Have you seen this?

:)

Heh, that is actually pretty cool. Don't care much for the custom paint job or speaker system, but the fact it had a major transplant is great.

I kinda like both vehicles for what they are in their price range, but I have only seen the fit commercials and I HATE THEM! I heard the Yaris commercial is equally as bad as the fit if not worse.
Fit front end is > Yaris front end (Like a mazda). I think everything else for the exterior the Yaris > Fit. Have to trust you guys and reviews for the interior and quality. :)

You're definitely in the minority. Nobody I know thinks the Yaris looks better than the Fit.

Def. a car I'd buy just for commuting. I've had a civic for about 4 years and could def. use a change (mainly in the power department)

I'd seriously consider taking this over either of them. I wonder what's stopping Suzuki from bringing it over?

Might be because they want to bring over the SX4. Though the fit would be a nice low end car, Suzuki gives you alot of car for the money.
