I'm not sure I'm going to like this season. Quinn has been a big part so far...but it seems like they are trying to push him out of it? I don't know. I'll probably continue watching...just because I've watched seasons 1-3.

I do like the new kid in the show, Suraj Sharma. Thought he was pretty good in "Life of Pi" so that gives the season some hope IMO.

Damn, writers on this show can write!

That is, when they are not being bogged down with a horribly dragged-out Brody story for two too many seasons.

Really liked the two-episode season premiere. Seriously, Claire Danes is just amazingly, scary good.

I mainly watched Homeland to see Morena Bacara. They wrote her out (maybe so she could go off and make a family) so now I don't care to put my time into watching that.

For a while I thought Claire Danes was the best actress EVER on tv, about on par with Scarlett O'hara in GWTW and any Streep performance.

Claire Danes actually may be the best actress ever in the history of tv. However...

as for me personally, I saw an even HIGHER, BETTER -than - Danes level of actressing by the phenom Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. In my mind Tatiana Maslany is EASILY the best (by far) best actress to EVER be on tv in my life, and truly may be the overall best actress (tv+movies+stage) ever.

Personally I don't find either Danes or Maslany attractive. I respect the talents of each. I award "best" tv actress I've ever seen in my entire life to Tatiana Maslany. W O W!!!

While a thread drift.. Tatiana Maslany, while not a bad actress is completely overrated. Danes can act, but I still don't think I'd write home about her performances though. I think that in homeland she's just given really crap stuff to work with. It makes Strike back look really thought out.

The baby story line and the CIA chick being a horrible mother are going to kill this show for me. I was hoping she was going to get in a car crash with the baby in the front seat to end that story line. Or that she would drown the baby. This show has no place for babies.

It is sad they ruined this show. The first season was so damn good, but I couldn't make it through the second season with the cop out that was the Brodie story line. Hearing people talk in here, I had hope 4th season might kick it back in..but not so sure.

I have low expectations for this show since the beginning of the season 3.

I did like season 2, and I'm wondering what people didn't like about it exactly.

The whole Brody story line was wishy-washy. The show would have been a hell of a lot better if Brody set off the bomb and died in the blast at the end of S1. Then Carrie and Saul could have gone after the terrorists with a vengeance without strapping Carrie into a gurney for electroshock therapy every episode. But on the whole, season 2 was at least watchable. Other than the typical Claire Danes mental illness, "look how crazy I am" chewing the scenery bullshit the story mostly watchable and moved along from point to point. Season 3 was where it got almost impossible to tolerate with half the story being Dana's emo and Carrie still overacting in her bat-shit crazy desperate pleas for Emmy recognition. I had high hopes for the new season, with Brody dead and Dana/Jessica out of the picture it looked like maybe they could do some Saul/Carrie terrorist hunting which is the only thing the show does well. It started off really strong and looked like maybe they would be able to maintain the pace of the main story without the sidetracking that derails every single episode now. But instead it resorted to form and we wound up with Quinn going off the rails beating guys up over a heifer and the Carrie/sister/baby arc. They just can't do a completely strong episode anymore. It's 10 minutes of brilliant tense anti-terror action and 40 minutes of soap opera 'B' plots.

Yeah but it shows a human side of things. I mean I get it people want action action action like 24, but to have a good story also does wonders.

The reason 24 is so lame to me is because its completely unrealistic and filled with a kind of nonstop action you would NOT get in any real world situation. Not to mention the drama/non-action side of things ends up being ridiculously cheesy because there's no genuine character development.

For those 24 moments where it shows Jack comes back from being long gone and has a softer side, none of it is realistic at all. He shakes after torturing someone? I mean if anything they did a much better job here in 1 episode showing the human side of Quinn. And come on, Claire Danes does a terrific job in playing a crazy role here.

OMG, Saul is kidnapped, wtf, what the Eff will ISI do with him? how is he an asset?

I don't get the beloved patriot kid angle, CIA knows that Haqqani is alive, they know where he is, why the eff is then Carrie molesting a kid to take her to him? they want to turn Haqqani? that's not gonna happen. They want to know who he was not killed, well, we all the the mole, so no suspense there... This season is making no sense to me what so ever.

This show could have been a lot better than it ended up. The premise is outstanding, but they are killing it with the whole Carrie-Brody romance. Not sure why the writers felt the need to go down that path. Something for the casual female audience? It takes up too much time and is distracting.

The show's all about weeding out truth from complexity. Carrie and Brody's fling was all about that. They were both lying and telling the truth at the same time. It's complicated, in other words.

I was quite excited about this season after the first episode, but already they are going a very weird and unneeded direction. :\
