Just what we need, one more drug for people to poison themselves with.
It's not a poison. This is not fentanyl.

Dude, they've been getting very positive results in testing psilocybin on people who have serious depression. The article indicates that this production method is for creating adequate supply for clinical application. There's also a strong movement for legalizing psilocybin, for this reason.

If you are anti-drug, fine on a personal basis.

It is easy enough to grow it yourself why would anyone buy the fake stuff. Hell you can buy the spores over the internet all prepped…

I'm looking to microdose psilocybin actually. Will probably be picking up an eighth soon, grinding it down and measuring it out into microdoses.

I mega dosed once.

Had the munchies and kept eating the bag like they were fries. May have eaten a whole eighth, IDK, buddy had a whole oz when we started, could have been more.

Hell of night.

Actually, don't know I did much that night. Was laid the f out.

The next morning tho... That was the good part. Woke up into a spirit walk. Transcendent.

Won't forget, and can't describe.

Won't repeat either.

Hallucinogenic drugs have an amazing anti inflammatory effect besides the anti depressant effect. I have not conducted any scientific experiments to confirm either of these so don't ask me how I know. More studies need to be done.

Tried it twice in college. Liked it. But I'm getting too old for that sort of thing.

I just recently bought a book, written by Aldous Huxley's 2nd wife, This Timeless Moment (they knew each other before his first wife died, they were all friends). Huxley died at age 69 the day JFK was killed, it went under the radar, suffice to say. At 11AM the day he died (he knew it was his last hours), he asked her to shoot him up with IIRC 400 micrograms of LSD. That's like a full dose. An hour later, it was a 2nd such dose. He died at around 4PM, trippin', baby!

Never tried any of the psychedelics but I am determined to give psilocybin a test run at some point. The people I know who have tried it have tried it once twice and when I ask them why not more times the answer is the same: Wasnt necessary. Thats not something you usually hear from recreational users: Yea I did heroin once, but then I was happy and I stopped at that.

Reason why psilocybin is in my crosshairs is this thing about longevity I am into as well, for mental health there is this thing called neural plasticity and it caught my attention again whet it was mentioned that :

So this is not science fiction.

Looks like a big complex system. I'm seeing P. Cubensis spore prints for ~$20 shipped at Ebay. Of course, you'd need a mushroom growing system to get fruits.

I heard years ago that P. Cubensis can be found on cow turds, e.g. in Texas. Not being in TX, I can't confirm this. I know all about spore prints, well not "all." But I have Mushrooms Demystified (really really good book), and have done amateur mushroom hunting, which really is big fun.

I was intensely curious about psychedelics early in my undergraduate study days. I bought copies of Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert's Psychedelic Review, they were teaching at Harvard. It was completely clear to me that these were not recreational drugs! In fact, they advised very controlled settings and with supervision. What happened over the next few years what with the proliferation of "acid" and other drugs psychedelic in nature baffled me. People were popping tabs or blotter acid at concerts, retreats, communes... Then The Electric Koolaid Acid Test came out, the book about Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters. Myself, I took something supposed to be acid once in the late 1960's and wandered the streets of Pacific Palisades at night not sure if I was high or not! MJ was much more pervasive in the culture around me. People passed around joints quite a bit.

I am nowhere near comfortable with this yet, still it sounds to me like it may be a method to keep the mind fresh for longer.. into the senior years.

I paid attention to the psychedelic scene. Psilocybin, LSD and mescaline (the psychoactive compound in peyote cactus), is what I heard about in that journal. There are newer drugs, and I'm pretty unaware of what they're about, MDMA (ecstasy), and others. The difference that I'm aware of in the 3 psychedelics I have read a fair amount about is how long the trip lasts. IIRC, LSD around 8 hours, psilocybin, somewhat less, IIRC. It's good to know what to expect in some degree! Of course, part of the adventure is not knowing what to expect and that's key with psychedelics, at least if you're among the uninitiated. I suppose if you've taken them a lot, you have a better idea. But I'm not at all sure that you should take them a lot! That might not be a good idea. My impression has always been that you should take them judiciously and anything but regularly, probably never with frequency. Of course, being as inexperienced as I am, take that with a few grains of salt and a heavy dose of YMMV!

I'm ready to microdose. I think you can try it quite safely.

I tripped a lot in my youth, but mostly LSD. Did shrooms maybe like 5-6 times, saw the Pink Floyd laser light show at the Hayden planetarium when that was a thing 25 years ago on shrooms. But I preferred good acid to shrooms. Shrooms made my body hurt a bit. Of course dirty acid could to, but good acid was better to me than shrooms. Tripped many a time at clubs, raves, just walking around NYC or on a hike in the woods. Best LSD I did was black pyramid geltabs someone got from Oregon. Clean as a whistle.

Haven't tripped in over 20 years though.

I don't think I could trip right now at this stage in life, maybe only on the absolute cleanest LSD possible, with a couple great people out in the woods somewhere.

From everything I've read and people I spoke to, microdosing psilocybin has zero tripping potential. It can just help you rewire your brain at that time. In a negative feedback loop in you head to start the day? Try a capsule and you can turn it around. Read an article about a study that showed psilocybin can create new neuron pathways https://news.yale.edu/2021/07/05/psychedelic-spurs-growth-neural-connections-lost-depression

This is particularly interesting to me as I suffer from bipolar depression.

Dude, you don't strike as the trip'in kind. Really? :)
Was talking to my buddy the other night about psychedelics. I ventured that if we spiked every local convention, plus the national Republican convention, with good psychedelics, enough of them would open up their minds and realize how shitty so much of their work and positions and party are.

Would be enough to make the current GQP simply ineffective due to numbers.
