<< I was bitten by the home theater bug several months ago, and now my system is complete (for now). I have alost 400 DVD's in my collection, and I find myself watching a lot of them over again since the sound is simply amazing in my new home. Thank goodness the neighbors don't mind. 🙂

[*]Denon 3802
[*]Klipsch Reference Series II - RF3 II fronts, RC3 II center, RS3 II dipole surrounds
[*]Dual SVS 20-39CS+ subs
[*]Samson S1000 amp
[*]JVC Hi-Fi VCR
[*]Sony 5 disc CD changer
[*]JVC SA70BK progressive DVD player
[*]Hitachi 53UWX10B 53" 16:9 HDTV
[*]Hughes E86 HDTV receiver
[*]Salamander audio rack
[*]Sanus rear surround stands
[*]AR Pro series cable throughout

I used AVIA to calibrate the system so that 00 on the Denon = 105db. I will usually watch movies at -15 when the GF is next to me. When I am alone it goes up to reference level most of the time.

Excellent system...I'd love to hear those SVS's. If that's your girlfriend, aren't you the guy with the Dinan BMW who had her sprawled all over that poon-pad of yours? I've seen a ton of pictures of her, she's definitely easy on the eyes. I guess life is good for some 🙂

Oh yeah here's my system. Although is seems weak in comparison to what other people are posting. I got most of it Christmas 2000.

Onkyo 575x Receiver
Onkyo SD-535 DVD Player
Energy Take 5 speakers w/ Sony SA-WM40 12" sub (best $120 I ever spent) 🙂
Sony 36" Wega
Bell-O audio rack
Most of my cables are from Better Cables.com, although I have couple Monster cables too.

Don't have any pics right now, but I can take a couple.

Over a hundred DVD's.

I must have missed this thread, so here goes - I have made a lot of upgrades over the past couple months:

Living room:
Sony WEGA 36XBR450 w/ matching TV stand
Denon 3300 receiver
Paradigm studio reference 40's w/ matching J-stands
Paradigm studio reference CC
Paradigm PW-2200 sub
Denon 1600 DVD
JVC7800 SVHS VCR
Bettercable wires (component + s-video + optical)
Studiotech HF AV rack

Bed room:
Sony WEGA 24FV300
Yamaha R-V905
Toshiba SD-1600
Sony VCR
Bose VCS10
Bose 301's on Studiotech stands
Radioshack Gold series cables
Studiotech Alpha Rack for TV+equipment

Upgrades in the next 3 months or less

1. New Reciever or separates for living room - I plan to move the 3300 to the bedroom

Contenders: Denon 5803, Pioneer elite 49TX, Outlaw 950/770 combo, Anthem AVM20/MCA50 combo

2. Pair of Paradigm studio reference 60's to replace the 40's which will be moved to surround duty

damn you people with money!

living room:
Denon AVR-1700
JBL Simply Cinema system (first generation -- retail $1000) (not the cheap stuff they have now) (w/ 100W sub)
Sony Hi-Fi VCR
Sony PlayStation (for CDs)

bedroom:
Technics SA-GX690
Sony 5-disc CD changer
JBL 2600 speakers
computer w/ SB Live! Value

no DVD yet 🙁 I'm a poor college student and I'd rather spend money on computers 😀

Pics/specs of the setup in my room (no longer living in the dorms, old pics are outdated):

linkie
couch looks close but it's optimal viewing distance for a 27" set

Very nice, kami. I remember when you advised me to get Paradigm and I'm really glad I got them; they sound amazing! I have a similar setup to yours.

Mains: Paradigm Titans
Center: Paradigm CC-170
Rears: Paradigm Atoms
Aiwa Receiver

Now all I need is the PDR-10 and my setup will be complete 🙂 I think all of this stuff is going to feel right at home in my dorm room.

-silver

My specs:
Sony 32" Wega w/ PIP and 16:9 enhanced mode functionality (forget the model no. FS/FV something)
Pioneer DV-343
Klipsch Reference Series II - RF3 II fronts, RC3 II center
Home Theater Direct Level 3 Bookshelf Surrounds
Denon AVR 2802
Home Depot 14 gauge speaker cables, Radio Shack Optical Cables, Radio Shack Gold Plated Banana Plugs
No Subwoofer yet Considering buying an Aperion.
Cox Digital Cable - I hate it.

cool, glad you like the paradigms 🙂

i want to upgrade something this summer but i can't decide on what.... TV, speakers, subwoofer? ahh!

Receiver: Yamaha RXV-2200
Amp: Parasound HCA 855 85Wx5
CD: Yamaha cdc-506 5 disc CD Changer
Tape: Yamaha K-903 dual cassette deck
VCR: Sharp Hi-Fi
TV: 32" Wega
DVD: Apex AD-1500
Speakers: (4) JBL ND310's for mains and surrounds, JBL N-Center, and a crappy Technics speaker for the rear center (until I can score another ND310) NO SUB YET

I just got the amp hooked up yesterday--what a difference standalone amplification makes. For anyone contemplating it, just do it.

Did some recent "upgrading" to my system

Heres mine:

[*]Harman/Kardon AVR 30 (next week I pick up a AVR520)
[*]Mirage M5 Series Bipolar towers, BPSS210 Dual 10" 250 watt sub, and I forget what the center and rears are.
[*]Mitsubishi 776 SVHS VCR
[*]Panasonic DMR-E20K Recorder (DVD-R/DVD-RAM)
[*]Pioneer DV-525 DVD Player
[*]Pioneer Elite CLD-95 LaserDisc Player
[*]Harman/Kardon 5 Disc cd changer
[*]Denon Dual Cassette
[*]Niles 7 Position box for distribution to other rooms
[*]Toshiba 27" Flat tube

In a nut shell, it pounds...

DAM Munglo the pics look AWESOME!

I hope to get a set up like that one day😀
