My last BestBuy experience was pretty decent. Bought a couple ssds. I was in and out, no problem. They don't have all the fun stuff microcenter has, but I can walk to bestbuy faster than I can drive to microcenter.

Never do that.

Never.

I still like walking around in-person to see all of the new stuff, but it's been awhile since I've been inside of an actual Best Buy store haha. Plus technology has been a bit stagnant for a few years...smartphones are kind of maxed out on features, so there really isn't anything new to add (other than like, folding phones, I guess), a 65" 4K Smart TV is like $399 these days (or a ridiculously-sized 86" for $1,200), a decent laptop is like $199 on sale, they have computerized toaster ovens that do everything under the sun, etc. Everything is pretty amazing, feature-rich, stable, and reasonably affordable these days!

Do you remember when the like 40" plasma TV's came out and they were like ten grand? Haha! And laptops were always $1,400 for a two-inch brick of a machine. I think my first laptop was that eMachines Athlon beast back in the day. The Anandtech wayback machine pulled up a thread from 2004, back when I officially joined ATOT - 18 years ago, yikes!

On that tangent, it's weird being able to see so much personal history online. I didn't know anything about anything lol:

I think this was the second thread I started to try getting in shape back then:

Now I do macros & meal-prepping and only cook like 10 minutes a day using appliances to divvy up & freeze lol. Still here on ATOT tho hahaha!

If I could find a decent functional laptop with two drive bays, a 17" screen and capacity for 16Gb or more RAM, for $199, I'd probably jump at it. Most I've seen are over $1,000
