<Spam Deleted; post not recycled so that the next post makes sense. It wasn't even 24 hours ago that I mentioned that sometimes, posts look innocent; it's only the fact that they necro a thread that provides sufficient evidence that it's a spammer. -Admin DrPizza>

Holy thread resurrection by a marketer.

Yeah, it's one it's those multi-level/direct marketing products, too. A coworker brought some in to the lab I was working at a few months ago, she got it from a friend pushing the stuff. Nasty odor and taste to the coffee, and I took a small sip before declaring it utter crap and going back to the coffee I brought from home in a thermos.

My coworker was not as fortunate - she actually felt ill and left the building.

The claims for Organo are not only ridiculous but it's also disgusting coffee. No mushrooms in my coffee, thanks. I hope no one buys it.

I buy my beans at Cosco. Right now my store is out of Kirkland Sumatra. It rocked, at $20 for a 3# bag. Lasts our house about 3 weeks - in the mean time we're making due to Kirkland House Blend.

You guys should really try Organo gold coffee , no jitters no crash and most important, it's a healthier coffee with no caffeine ! It taste great to . No bitterness at all . Gourmet coffee .
Ganoderma lucidum - a white-rot fungus used in processing industrial sludge.

Thanks, but I think I'll stick with my Mocha Harrar and Kenya AA.

Hmmmm.... spam marketing backfire?? -DrPizza

I always pick those up too

yay thread necro, back on topic!

I have a Cuisinart brand Keurig k-cup brewer at home and buy the 80 pod count boxes from Costco of the Donut Shop (taste most like Dunkin IMO) and Newman's Own.

They used to sell the Caribou pods at my local Costco but have not in a long time. I really miss that one.

Eight O'clock Coffee beans (Original or 50% decaf)

I grind it right before I brew

I've bought $30 worth of "high end" beans this month that had half the taste of 8 o'clock. I prefer the original.

I might as well just buy 5 lbs and call it done.

srsly, it's not coffee, it's crap.

Still running with organic black gold/bitches brew from a local roaster. $13.50/pound.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

8Oclock tastes fine to me. I tried all kinds of different coffee beans....and I simply HATE anything "flavored". Rest of regular coffee makers didn't really do it for me.

So I stick to what I like, 8 oclock is it.

8 O'clock is just fine for me. Occasionally we'll pick up a pound of Jumpin' Jamaica Java that's made at a roaster in the Finger Lakes area. I always buy whole bean & grind just prior to brewing.

This:

It's amazing. Flavorful, not overly strong, with almost a bit of a nutty flavor. It's by far my favorite of favorites.

I would recommend ordering a bag for any coffee connoisseur looking to try something new and a little different.

A small family owned business and they roast the beans daily.

Here's a piece that Arizona Highways did on Bisbee Coffee Company.

People buy $130 coffee grinders?

Jesus

I was stupid enough to buy a piece of shit Magic Bullet and have used it for NOTHING BUT coffee grinding every since (does the trick fine).

When it breaks > off to Bed Bath and Beyond for a $10-20 Grinder.

😎

Tim Hortons? Dunkin Donuts?

Bah.

I grow my own coffee bean, dark roast it... grind it.. and brew it.

It's the only way to do coffee.

Pansies.

I have a herd of civets to make my own Kopi Luwak coffee. The store bought $150 a pound crap is not good enough for me. I am currently perfecting a system where the beans go from the civets ass to my hermetically sealed french press in under 48 hours. Its the only way to ensure a half way decent cup of joe.

Now who is the pansy? :colbert:

If you prefer to make coffee via a french press (which were really from Italy, made popular here via vets returning from WWII) you have to use a very course grind. Getting a consistently course grind is hard to do with those cheap bladed grinders. You have to invest in a decent burr grinder for this, which I have seen start @ $50 for a well reviewed hand cranked unit.

Those cheap spinning blade grinders really don't grind anyway, they chop which will result in some of the coffee being ground into dust.

I just have my beans ground as course as possible when I buy them, works for me but it would be better to grind just before brewing.

The difference in flavor between coffee ground with a burr grinder and a little whirlyblade grinder is truly night and day. With the blade-type, you end up with a mix of too-fine powder and too-coarse chunks. It's never possible to get an even grind because you're re-grinding some of the stuff again and again. It makes for an overly bitter cup.

It wasn't $130, but my $88 Capresso Burr Grinder has been the biggest improvement in my coffee's flavor since moving to fresh-ground beans.

On that note, I've been enjoying the Costco Colombian stuff for a couple of years now. Of all the varieties I've tried, that one's still my favorite.

I do fine with my cheap blade grinder. I've perfected the shake and timing needed to get a consistent grind.

Even being a coffee snob I can't justify $100 on a grinder.
