I grow my own coffee bean, dark roast it... grind it.. and brew it.

It's the only way to do coffee.

I have a climate-controlled geodesic dome in my back yard, where I grow coffee and mango trees and, most importantly, keep stocked with a community of Asian Palm civets.

I have a team of Vietnamese refugees (they can eat the mangoes, but they aren't paid) whose task it is to collect the civet poop and extract the partially digested coffee cherries.

The coffee cherries are then sent to my team of Sumatran laborers to prepare my daily pot of Kopi Luwak. This has to be fresh, of course, so this routine is repeated twice, daily.

Just picked up a big bag of colombian supremo from costco to augment my more expensive coffee beans.
I have two bags of kona peaberry from when i was there two weeks ago.

Instant is not that convenient. You have to heat the water and manually add the coffee.

If you want true convenience, get yourself super automatic espresso machine. You just place your cup and press one button. In less than 60 seconds, you'll have the perfect cup of coffee waiting for you. No need to grind, press, or add hot water. The machine does everything for you. I wouldn't trade mine for anything and it's worth every penny I paid. It has paid for itself multiple times in savings. Not to mention time and convenience.
 
Sumatra from Costco. I used to like it when they had the occasional Kenyan and Ethiopian roasts to compliment their variety but they seemed to have stopped that. They have a Guatemalan bean that is a milder roast that their Sumatran French roast but its too mild for my taste.

We have a Keurig at work but all that coffee tastes like crap, IMO. If it doesn't have a little bite, I don't want it. I have the company buy the Costco Sumatra I drink and you know what, most people wait for me to make that coffee instead of drinking that Keurig stuff. :hmm:

Grinding (20 seconds to pour and grind), put in french press (5 seconds), add hot water (10 seconds - have Poland Spring dispenser, heats water to 180 degrees), let it steep for 3 minutes, plunge, and it's good to drink.

Total time less than 5 minutes for a good cup (or 3) of coffee. And the steep time isn't wasted for me, as I'm usually doing something else (reading, making breakfast, watching the news, etc).

Fixed that for truth. Press coffee is the best, I'm just too lazy most of the time.
 
8 o'clock is a good value. Not the absolutely best coffee, but pretty good for the price. Certainly one of the better brands available in most sueprmarkets.

Yea, 8 o'clock is good bang for buck. I also brew this, either original or french roast mixed 50/50 with decaf.

Takes me all of 30 seconds total 😛. Also no clean up (other than the cup but thats the case no matter what you drink).
 
Folger's pre-measured one pot packs from Sam's Club(prefer the Maxwell House ones, but our store stopped stocking them 🙁 ).
 
I'm not going to say anything about people who like hazelnut coffee. (I like the smell, but my love for it stops there) The worst was when I changed jobs last year. New Employee orientation had 2 caraffes of coffee during the break...one was decaf and the other was hazelnut. I spit it out and threw the cup away.

I've been stuck on Dunkin Donuts Original (smoother) & 8 O'Clock Original (slightly darker than DD). Typically, I buy 8 O'Clock because it can be had from Walmart for $3.88.....Dollar General for $4 around here...or $11.96 from Sam's Club when I want to buy in bulk...40oz bag, I think...

Dunkin Donuts is around $7.99 per 12oz bag here... I'll buy the 16oz bags or larger ones from Dunkin Donuts locations, but we're finally just about to get them around here. Otherwise, it's a 50 mile drive to the nearest DD location. 🙁
 
....One more thing. I have a coworker that is a true coffee fanatic. He buys green coffee beans online in bulk and roasts them himself in an air popcorn popper. He does this every other day. This might be something for the crafts-type people to try out if you want a new hobby and like fresh coffee.
 
donut shop k-cups are what I always default to.

I just got a Keurig B70 as a gift. I am lazy in the morning especially when it's cold. I am starting to really liking the Keurig. I didn't think I would like the Keurig at first because I like really strong coffe. I got 50 Donut Shop K-Cups from Amazon and really digging them. I don't think I'll use my French Press again.

based on a thread like this I went to a DD in NJ for coffee. I was thoroughly unimpressed and required an immediate Starbucks.
 
I recently started using Coffee Bean Direct Sumatra Mandheling (not the Dark), 2/3 Decaff and 1/3 Caff. I used to use 8 o'clock, but their decaff was horrible and tasted burnt all the time no matter how I prepared it. The sumatra is perfect tasting to me -- smoothing but strong with a slight chocolate undertone. Plus, the decaff tastes nearly identical to the caffinated, which is good in my case since I'm primarily a decaff drinker.

That is the way to get it done just the way you like it at the absolute cheapest price as green beans are very inexpensive. Be aware that roasting coffee can be very smoky and you have to have a way to vent smoke away. Or just roast inside a garage with the door open.

I enjoy espresso every day and while I don't turn my nose up at Dunkin or Caribou Coffee, I much prefer my home made nectar. I used to hang out at CoffeeGeek.com and got a lot of great advice there on techniques and equipment. I now use Spanish equipment, an Expobar Office Pulser and Cunill Tranquillo grinder for perfect espresso but it took me a while and lots of experimentation to upgrade to this setup. If I did not prefer espresso I would opt for a quality French press, no better way to brew coffee inexpensively.

I usually prefer to try local roasters but Intelligentsia out of Chicago and LA is always nice.

Oh yeah, today I am just kicking back with nothing exotic - it is Trader Joe's House Blend of Sumatran and Columbian. I also like their French Roast.
