My wife LOVES QVC. 
Last year, she saw a Sharp 32 inch plasma..on sale for $799 with 6 easy payments...
"But it has a built-in blu-ray player!"
I went on line, found that exact television for about $300 less...she didn't buy it.
She has no idea what tech stuff costs from the major on-line resellers, so (fortunately) she asks me when she sees something she likes.
Now for buying purses...I stay out of the way. The major (EXPENSIVE) brands...QVC is pretty competitive with everywhere else...and often, much cheaper.
