Holy &*$#... I just won the Powerball!!

I've never won anything from any lottery before, but now fortune smiles on Jeeebus! Now it's just a matter of finding a financial planner and figuring out what to do with my winnings.

That's right folks, Jeeebus got 1 number + the powerball... that's $4 of sweet, sweet victory. Sure, the tickets cost him $5, but that's not the point. I'm rich! Filthy rich!

McDonald's dollar menu on me!

LMK if you need me to setup a blind trust for ya.

Heh. Yeah, I rarely play, but I have hit the $4 (and $3) before. It's good for a laugh. 🙂

I've read both the $10 and $300,000 threads, and come to the conclusion that hookers and blow is my best option.

You should check out that thread on how to invest 10$, granted 4$ is significantly less, you should check it out, it might apply 😉😉

Indeed, a very sound financial investment.

$4.00? Are you hoping she will let you play "just the tip"?

 Awesome

Though they say lottery tickets are a tax for people who suck at math.

you're clearly inexperienced with the intricacies of a highly leveraged hookers & blow transaction.

I hit the megaball on Tuesday. $2. Schweet. Course I rolled it into 2 ticks for Friday's $171 million drawing. God, I swear I'll give it all to charity. I promise. Really.

But who needs the lottery anyway? If I just invest $100, compounded interest should make me a multi-millionaire by the time I'm 60, right?

20 years ago, I played the Pick 3 in Ohio. Played it "boxed", meaning that the numbers could come in any order. I won and took home around $70. I figured I was ahead of the game and have never bought a lottery ticket since.

The odds of winning the jackpot of the mega millions is 1 in 175,711,536. Since the value of the win is $171,000,000 (for this week). We're at an almost 1 dollar expected value for each "play." (97.32 cents for this week's)

So, really, once it gets above 176 million, it's not that stupid of a purchase. (Not to mention the odds of winning something smaller, which boosts the value of your ticket)

I won $50 on my first lottery investment - a Florida scratch-off when they first started (late 80s). I don't play often but I'm sure I've pissed that $50 away since then.
