I'm so happy! This weekend I was finally able to build my new 2.6C Intel box! 🙂 I've been out of the Intel scene for a few years, so I was curious to see what all the hype was about, especially after reading how well the "C" Northwoods were overclocking and how HT was really helping DC projects. I have to say that I am very impressed. After jacking the fsb up to 250 (3.25ghz - RAM 1:1) and letting her rip, I'm happy to say there were no problems whatsoever. On default voltage, too. 🙂
As far as HT goes, I'm amazed. During the last 24 hours, my new Intel rig crunched 15 WUs! That's a wee bit faster than my A64 3200 (2.0@2.2) cranks them out! I couldn't be any happier with the performance. And as I learn more about tweaking Intel systems, hopefully I can bring the time down even more.
I'm glad I stayed away from Intel for so long. It gave them a chance to develop a super cpu during that time so I could come back to the darkside in style. 🙂 (PS - You'll still have to pry my A64 from my cold dead fingers, though. 🙂 )
