I was looking at CMU pretty hard for a while, I really liked the campus (the price tag, however . . . ) and now I have set my sights on Rice U. of Houston.
I think I can get in w/o too much trouble, grades and scores and extra-curriculars are where they need to be, both my parents went there, at least one of my uncles did (triple legacy=score) and the final price tag will be around 25 large. nowhere near the 40k that CMU wants.
And, Houston will have a great climate fall-winter-spring (but back north I go for the summer!), and Rice has better academics. And, I can bring my car because they have enough parking for each student to have eighteen cars (blatant exaggeration, but anyone who wants a car can have it because they have a stadium-sized parking lot at their baseball stadium . . . which is part of the main campus)
So, I guess, Sable or no, there is a good chance that I may become a ricer . . . . (/me kills himself for bad pun)
