Holy crap. 1/600 people in Canada are professional pot growers.

Time article said that Canada has 50,000 professional pot growers (Canada has a pop of 30 mil). That's really an awful lot, it seems to me. Growers are slapped on the wrist in Canada, so it's a great way to make money (although illegal), and they ship most of it down to the US. Course, later this year according to the article, pot will be decriminalized in Canada. And to think, I'm going home for Christmas :Q

So what?

I bet 1/600 people in the united states likes to garden, too.

😛

BTW, for every "professional" that knows what they're doing, there are probably 2 amateur closet growers that don't. 😉

As soon as you land on.... the rock... there'll be crippled children selling pot in the terminal.

actually that explains a lot about canada.....

i wonder if they will be changing the flag from the maple leaf to the marijuana leaf

word.

I have no problems with it. As far as I'm concerned, it's no different than growing vegetables and setting up a stand on the corner to sell them.

Is that illegal?

Yo eli when I get back to P-town me and you are going to have to kick it. Unless your afraid to come up in NORTH EAST MF'er.
Mississippi street biatch.

And the best part is it all comes from either British Columbia (population 4 million) or Whitby (population 92 000). So the actual rate of pot growing is closer to 1/100 for the real target populations 😛

ahahha holy crap i remember that stinker of a thread

ya serious. most of them are probably closet growers for personal. all it takes is a little reading and anybody can do it. im not surpised since its not a 'horrible' crime like it is down here. to think, if bud was legal and sellable like cigarettes... well... im sure the marijuana tax would generate billions.

No, but it should be. I know some girls that have battled addictions with cucumber all their lives. My heart goes out to them.

Indeed, the trade has led to an increase in drive-by shootings in Canada by rival dealers, and to "grow-rips," in which competing clans break into growers' houses to steal their crops, according to Canadian police. The body of the suspected ringleader of a trafficking group was found stabbed in the neck in a ditch in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in November 2002. "It's still a dangerous drug," says James Capra, the DEA's chief of domestic operations. "People are killing each other over it."

people are killing each over the MONEY. pft, what asshats.

edit: also, what drug isnt dangerous? 😕
