Holy Cr@p! 2008 BMW M3 Debuts in the UK...for OVER $100K

The M3 will have a base price of about $61k. The previous model underwent a 23% increase in price in the UK, I guess we can expect the same here. The Nissan GT-R will definitely be a great competitor for this M3, price wise. Performance wise, I suspect the GT-R will leave the M3 in the dust.
 
You need to remember that the UK pays nearly 100% more due to taxes (VAT etc). If you watch Top Gear, you would notice that when they say prices of cars that both countries get (US and UK), the amount in ­£ doesn't come even close to the amount in $ (I.e. a Civic EX with the 1.8l petrol engine will be around £15-16k, yet it sells for right about $20k here)
 
i was reading a motoring magazine (either C&D or R&T) while waiting at my barbershop and i recall reading that new M3 will start at $55K. Still speculations though
 
I?m still quite good friends with one of the 'New Car Salesmen' at my local BMW dealership, so I think I?ll try and blag a test drive when my local dealership receives the new car. 😀

The previous engine in the E46 M3 (the S54) was just an evolution of the engine in the E36 M3 (the S50 and the M3 EVO's S52). So through two generations they used the same block with a number of advancements which differentiates the two.

Ohh, and the new E92 M3 has a fully carbon fibre roof, too.

Well the new V8 is a just derivation of the V10. 😛

True dat. It's still a fairly new engine design, though. 🙂

They should build another street version of the M3 GTR, and this time use the V10 from the E60 M5. 😀
