Just got this:

UPS Uniforms *** UPDATE ***

Unfortunately the info re: UPS Uniforms came from another Law Enforcement Agency in the State of California purporting the validity of the information. This "INFO" is, apparently an Internet myth.

However, the advice is good in that you should always verify the delivery service has arrived with their own company vehicle.

Our deepest APOLOGIZES from the LAPD WVY Area !!!

That'll teach me.

It's ok. Relax. The TSA and Dept of Homeland Security have everything under control.
Your packages will all be sniffed at the main UPS hub by drug and bomb dogs.
I could tell you more, but then Id have to kill myself. 😀

Our company (and many others) use 'owner / operator ' arrangements and as such have few actual "company" vehicles. Every shipper however has issued company ID's with photos than can be presented when asked.
However a Scion xB with stock rims and no rice-ification-ing says "Delivery Guy" in a way that practically nothing else does.

Wait..."deepest APOLOGIZES"?

WTF. Who is running this mailing list for the LAPD, Flav A Flav?

I seriously have a box about 2' x 2' x 3' that weighs about 80 pounds sitting unopened just inside my front entrance. Was delivered by UPS earlier. However, I was expecting it and I hear no ticking noises. All my plants have wilted since I brought it in however. :awe:

As for the ID, come on. How many people know what a real UPS ID looks like? I would bet you could make a UPS id without knowing what the real thing looks like and fool people 9/10 times. When someone asks for an ID, as long as something is shown they never challenge it further.

Why is the link to a non .gov website when it is right after the Dept. of Homeland address?

.gov TLD was hacked 2 years ago. all .gov domains are run by hackers and have viruses and trojans. you must forward this information to 10 people or your neighbors cat will poop in your mouth tonight while you're sleeping.

I hope Motion Man hasn't sent any Nigerians money.

The story though reminds me of when Japan Airlines went bankrupt and they ordered their flight attendants to not auction off their uniforms, although not for national security reasons.
