So i got to play with his XTi today, and to be honest, I liked it, ALOT.... I think i may switch... Start off w/ the 28-135 IS, then pick up the 10-20 down the line... Besides, I could use the extra money right now...

i already told you what i thought, but this seems like an old thread anyway

you realize that while the d200 is out of your price range, you'd be buying new lenses anyway. consider the costs. is the reason for you wanting to upgrade really because you just want d200 functionality at a cheaper price? will it be affordable in the long run?

that leads me to my blog post which i KNOW i told you to read and is based on cnet's little nikon d80 vs. rebel xti fight. nikon is just superior in all respects compared to canon, and the reviewers aren't nobodies (like us who are either canon-fanboys or nikon fanboys/girls)...

http://www.photocritique.us/2006/10/24/...on-d80-versus-the-canon-eos-rebel-xti/

and as you know, the d80 is pretty much similar to the d200..

a lot of people go to the other side, and that's not to say you can't, but make sure your reasons for going there are justified.

Ok, just found something about the XTi that bothers me, no built in wireless flash commander....

Right now w/ the D70, i have a SB600 flash (it was like $175) that can work wirelessly w/ the built in commander (popup flash)

Looks like on the Canon, you need a seperate wireless flash commander (or an additional flash on the shoe) to go wireless, that right there makes the camera cost an additional $250. That just sucks.
